Mostly because I'm confused by the rubbish you're spreading about.
I'm not sure if you believe this garb-olla...or if you just make it up 'cause it sounds good...

Are you making things up again...:omg:

WTF are you talking about? You're the one that mentioned Microsoft's VALUE.

So yeah, "volume is completely different" and also COMPLETELY irrelevant to the long-term value of a stock.

I appreciate a reduction in his extravagant spending!!! Michelle didn't require a vacation in Africa, we didn't NEED to spend 1/2 billion on Solyundra, nor any extra during this economicql trying time. Oddly he can find evrything to spend our money on, but can't find anything to cut but the military or extend cuts over 10 years.

Is it REALLY impossible to find wasteful cuts!!!!!

I'll try to dumb it down.

Dow Jones/Gold ratio measures the Dow Jones worth in stocks in terms of gold. The Dow Jones has lost value in terms of gold.

Dollar Index measures the dollar relative to other currencies also in terms of stocks.

Volume is merely the actual worth of the stock.

    Get it now?

The volume is the value. It's called Volatility.

Look up the term Share and get back to me.

so even though stocks have risen in value....(the dow and individual stocks)

and even though the dollar has held....

those stocks that are worth more dollars, are somehow not worth more dollars?

lmao if you say so.....but those of us with money invested in 2008 have seen reality.

Wrong again Mello. As already stated the DOW when he took over was in the 8k range not 6.

    Nice try.

    Bush: DJIA 12/12/2000 - 10,768.............1/16/2009 - 8281

Over 8 years, including 2 major wars and 911, the market dropped only 2487 points from final election results to the end of the Bush presidency.

(*)(*)(*)(*) those pesky facts huh Mello!

NYSE stocks are measured in dollars, therefore, it's no different from having actual currency IN USD. Whether or not the value of the dollar is going up or down relative to other currencies shows up on the dollar index. The value of the dollar has been decreasing for years. Even though your stocks have been appreciating, your stocks (relative to other markets) are actually worth "less."

Think of it like your minimum wage getting higher but it being able to buy less and less stuff over time.

Maybe if they own stocks abroad or precious metals. If they're in the dollar. Not so much.

Anyone can own investments or stocks as you have perfectly demonstrated your economic illiteracy.
