I live in NE Wisconsin but have friends in East Texas along the Gulf Coast, in particular the Houston area. And I just bought property outside of Sugarland.

Hurricaine Harvey has "kicked the hell" out of East Texas over the past 48 hours and those people are in for another 48 hours of heavy rains, flooding and damaging winds. Then they face a terrible mess.

If you believe in a higher power please offer a prayer or two for the safety of Texans and, and if you can afford to do so, a donation to your favorite disaster relief agency.

Texans are a tough breed and they'll get through this. But if you can help, please do so.

    Cheers,
    Jason Bourne

FEMA has already said they will be there for years and Trump has given all the support he can to them.

So on the government front they did exceptional. Hopefully this helps the cleanup go quicker.

Let's hope so. This may likely surpass the effects of Katrina.

Its better if you call it South-East Texas because the northern half of the state is completely unaffected by the storm

At this point. According to the NWS Harvey is expected to track up eastern Texas and into the Mississippi valley by Thursday. As for the effects oif the storm, the northern half of Texas is definitely impacted. They're sending in emergency assets.

Cheers and blessings to EAST Texas,
    Jason Bourne

I just have to say that I am extremely impressed by the people of Texas. The way they have stepped up is an example for the whole nation.

It has surpassed all hurricanes including Katrina because Houston is the fourth largest city, highly industrialized and affects millions of people. Also it has the oil refineries and the wells in the Gulf. After this will be the earthquake, and the tidal wave... and that's the end of the US ...or at least as a world power. Pray for mercy.
