Egypt's public prosecutor ordered the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badie and eight senior members of the Islamist movement on Wednesday in a probe over accusations of inciting violence, MENA state news agency reported.

Badie has been detained for questioning and later released at least once since the army deposed Islamist president Mohamed Mursi, a leader of the Brotherhood, on July 3.

Yaay for egypt! Good for them by having a revolution to get rid of the military dictatorship, and then they vote islamists into power, but they don't really seem to understand how democracy work so they use the military to depose them, and now they're going back to military rule. The revolution does seem rather unnecessary then in my view. But atleast I'm glad that they didn't continue being so islamist, and I'm happy that if they're going to persecute people they persecute the bad ones. I very much prefer military rule for them also, and they to seemingly.

Seems they understood it pretty good as things were fairly smooth until Morsi declared himself above reproach and canned the constitutional process.

Well, a fresh arrest is much better than a stale one!

I see that the NSA has retained its ' rights ' to strip all Americans of any vestiges of their privacy. When do you think the military will surround the White House ? What Morsi did was mild by comparison- silly maybe- sectarian-tinged, maybe- but mild in comparison. An American can't even open his mouth on foreign affairs without broadcasting hypocrisy. Canadian governments just cheerlead hypocrisy from the wings.Brit governments give it a blow-job.

It smells more like a coup with each day passing .
I know that it sounds way too progressive for a backwards country like Egypt but pulling a separation of the church and the state tho highly unpopular will solve the problem once and forever .

It was a coup from Day One. That's what they call it when the military arrests the democratically-elected leadership and installs its puppets. When the military then murders over fifty protestors in the streets it's a bloody coup. It really doesn't matter if Morsi was not suited to the job.

Egypt is the Egyptian people's country, not the Ikhwan's country. If the people want to take a mulligan, that's up to them.

Todays top insane Ikhwani statement from the supreme leader El Badie

“I swear by God that what el-Sissi did in Egypt is more criminal than if he had carried an axe and demolished the holy Kaaba stone by stone,”

The residents of Giza at University and Raba'a a Adaweya are sick of the Ikhwan as the rest of us are.

Residents have been prevented from driving their cars, opening their shops, walking in the streets, having supplies delivered to their shops, all because these Ikhwani are controlling the areas.
I know people who live in both areas and they cannot sleep for 24/7 loudspeakers shouting out insane rubbish from their stage all day and all night long. They are even so desperate that they are thinking of asking the army to cut off the electricity and water to the areas to force them to go home. The ikhwan are connecting electric cables to the buildings stealing resident electricity and they are having to pay for it!
The ikhwan are cooking huge amounts of food to feed the illiterate peasants to encourage them to come and camp at their protests and I'm sure if Tamarod done the same thing they would all eat in Tahrir too because a lot of these protesters are there only for free iftar.

Sisi has a lot of support because the country is sick of the Ikhwan and now that the Badie has said this latest statement clearly raising Morsi to the level of a God now!!!!! and actually ABOVE God now!!! we all know now we are dealing with raving lunatics and I say well said Sisi.

You have my mandate to remove these villagers and send them all home tomorrow and by force if you have to and lock up all their leaders tonight and put them in with Mubarak in Tora!

So you've abandoned the democracy you worked so hard for, Abu, and now you call for the oppression of those civilian brothers who stood beside you to free Egypt from Mubarak and his army.

and another of the many nightmares the residents have to suffer because of the occupation of Raba'a!

the ikhwan will not let residents into their homes and streets unless they show them their id with their addresses!! so any visitors to relatives are not allowed to visit, sons are not allowed in to visit elderly parents if they have different addresses on their id's! because ikhwan thugs are controlling the area and streets surrounding the Raba'a al Adaweya!
They only allow the ones with addresses through and the residents are arming themselves and attacking them at night in the square to get rid of them.

When you see an attack it is not Tamarod as the Ikhwan are saying, it is the residents attacking them to get them to leave so they can get their lives back and access to their homes and businesses.

809 Turkish machine guns have been seized by army today not far from where I live on way to Raba'a al Adaweya (Ikhwan sit in)

Army arrested the owner of the trucks used to transport them who is well known Ikhwan import businessman Aboul Gheit from Nasr City who is the main guy providing the food and catering to the ikhwan protesters at Raba'a.

Army also seized all his cooking equipment, loads of meat and food supplies and rest of his trucks he uses to move the food and guns. I guess they were getting ready to machine gun down the Tahrir protesters in bigger numbers with this new shipment tomorrow.

Nice photo of the ikhwan who were caught

I'm rooting for the Egyptian army on this one. They seem like normal people, I mean as normal as Muslims can be. Let's keep in mind that Morsi got elected through a dishonest election. The opposition wasn't given enough time to organize.

Muslim Brotherhood needs to be eradicated from this planet. They are a plague that will not go away unless they are six feet under.

Please do not believe that they are done. They are playing "nice" for now to get sympathy. I think they may try to take the route of Syrian Muslim Brotherhood and attempt to start a civil war. There are already mass attacks on Copts and Secular Egyptians. They are putting pressure on these two groups.

New Egyptian regime is so democratic it arrests opposition .

I wonder why they need the guns anyway, the blob can easily swallow an army .

Egyptian Orthdox Church leaders announce that the Copts have been instructed to fast with the Muslims today (Ramadan) and for both Muslims and Copts to share iftar (breakfast) together tonight in Tahrir.

    Very nice gesture
