That's something Trump would do. But alas. We have Brandon.

The only way to deescalate it is to put the fear of god in their eyes. No country has tried to militarily expand its border other than Russia since WWII. They done during Obama and now they’re doing it during Biden.

They are even committing genocide of thought. There is stories of soldiers looking through civilian phones for pro or anti Russian material and killing based on that. They are targeting civilian structures with impunity as well. Even buildings marked as such with paint. If we allow this to happen it sets a precedent that it’s acceptable and it shouldn’t be acceptable to at any cost. This will embolden others to do the same.

More of that strong Biden leadership. I'll give you my word as a Biden that is leadership!

Shaking hands with air is leadership!

Biden is such a strong leader people from his own party have no respect for him. He ends up wandering around greeting people who are not there. Yeah Putin and Xi are impressed.

Biden holding the reigns for an imaginary pony is strong leadership!

In the meantime the corporate news media block a laptop of incriminating information and his daughter's diary that talks about him and her taking showers together. Leadership!

I have not been attacking the policy toward Ukraine other than the fact I think that Coons' talk about troops on the ground is from Biden.

I want European nations to take this conflict seriously given it is in their own back yard! And yes they probably should be less reliant and dependent on Russian imports of energy and wheat. That is exactly what Trump tried to do.

The European union is 447 million people. GDP is around 16 trillion. A per capita GDP of $44K. Why are we obligated to defend them? We should be helping some and that is all.

What a BS thread of a under informed person.
Besides the weapons Germany has delivered it has pledged 2 Billion Euros in aid to the Ukraine. Italy is delivering weapons in the 100s of millions, France and the UK, too.
The EU has a special Budget of over 1 billion to help the Ukraine to buy weapons. Eastern European countries are delivering weapons to the Ukraine, worth 100s of millions of Euro.
If you add it all up, then the European countries have supported the Ukraine with close to 10 billions in money and equipment.
Lets not forget the humanitarian aid for millions of refugees.

So, this isn't about Ukraine at all, just another mount point to bash President Biden.

    Can I play?

I'm bashing our policy in general. It is not new. The Russian invasion into Ukraine is an Obama-Biden problem.

You are aware that Trump is not president and I'm one of those advocating that he not be the republican candidate for 2024.

Here is an April 13th story that says EU military aid up to $1.63B. Where is the link that shows $10B in aid or $2B from Germany alone?

Those numbers make no damn sense. If the EU as a whole pledged $10B you know more than 20% would be coming from Germany.

I like how people post partisan drivel and then leave. So other than the fact the current president is a democrat what has made NATO stronger? What is this improved leadership? Fawning over them so their press is even more biased than usual in your favor is not leadership.

Back in the real world, that's the effect..

That doesn't make any sense, but then none of your comments do.

That technique is called a trial balloon and it's been used since FDR. Biden is politically squeezed, there are people pushing for and against everything... Wait, I have suspected for a while now that Biden has had Zelensky doing trial balloons.

In any case, it's been obvious, since about a week into the war, that if we attacked, we could roll the Russian forces up like a rug. And if we did that, Putin would have to surrender or use tactical nukes. Which way do you think he would jump?

I would equate Europe with a 40 year old son who still lives at home and pays no rent. But he takes the garbage out every Tuesday and sometimes collects them!

We are spending $800B a year now in military. We have military commitments on every continent and every ocean and sea. We are the primary protectors for South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines. We have a presence in the Persian Gulf.

Why are we doing the heavy lifting for rich white countries?

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-60555472

    Direct humanitarian aid
    https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/IP_22_2482

    More calculation of aid

Bet you haven’t heard about the aid Australia is sending?

And that is just what we have announced publicly. There will be more aid sliding in the back door

So we are obligated to do the lion's share of military protection for 400 million rich white people?

You now advocate a hot war with Russia? Genius!

Did you not read that i was not bashing Biden's policy I want Europe to take more responsibility for their own damn continent! What about that do you disagree with?

Excuse me, wasn't it Benedict Donald that attempted to bribe President Zelenskyy? Russia's Ukraine invasion is a Putin problem. NATO leaders LED by President Biden are keeping it contained to a conventional war and doing a damn good job, evidenced by Ukrainian success so far. There is NO republican candidate because there is NO republican party, the tRumpublicans are chomping at the bit to run Donald Judas tRump again.

Australia is in Europe now? I'm primarily talking about military aid. What are you defending? This perpetual idea that our nation sucks?

You ought to watch a few Peter Zeihan videos, seriously, you should like them, and he talks about us reducing our international involvement, and thinks more reduction will come.

Ike and Truman created Pax Americana after WW2, and it worked really well. The world is changing now, and we need to adjust to that. But it would be nice if we could do it intelligently.

Amazing. I say Europeans are not pulling their weight. It is their continent. Posters seem to think Europe=democrat party.

You are doing this too quickly.

You are clearly not processing, just reacting. That's the opposite of what I said.

So you agree with me now? A nation that is $30T in debt does not need to be the world's policeman.

We should be able to get by with a military budget of $600B. Perhaps even less. That is still much more than China-Russia-Iran-N Korea combined.

These ideas that are called not of the real world by one poster are not new they are LIBERAL. I'm anti war and against us being the world's policeman. Or world cis whatever.

As usual when I go real LIBERAL the democrats on this forum lose it. Conservative neocons think we are not spending enough on military by the way.
