    I find this one interesting as I live in Indonesia.
    I can't comment on this case as I have yet to research but there are some indisputable facts.
    Pak Harto was ruthless in the extreme. It was him who started the communist purge that led to 500,000 or so deaths (Some say many more).
    It's pretty clear his family was corrupt. This went on right up to a few years ago and may well be a fact right now.
    Saying a US oil company paid for protection at the hight of a bloody civil conflict, no questions asked, is believable.

    Not that I'm saying I believe it, just, I wouldn't die of a shock related heart attack if it was.

    One would have to know the history to understand this. If you hire known murderers and then those known murderers are accused of murder, the skeptisism meter naturally declines.
