Facebook Bans Second Amendment Group Without Explanation

Let's call a spade a spade and just realize the people who delete groups on Facebook are college students majoring in gender and african studies. They've been indoctrinated and programmed a long time ago.

The image of a comedian holding his severed head was retweeted countless times and no one was banned. Stories of Trump locking kids in cages, showing a photo before he was president was retweeted endlessly. No one was banned.

Video of Madonna saying she’d like to blow up the whitehouse was passed all over social media. No one was banned for it.

Haven’t looked for tweets saying Trump should be hung. Should i? There are endless tweets saying Trump has killed 100s of 1000s of people due to Covid. That’s a hysterical lie and incited violence.

There are endless tweets claiming cops kill black peoples due to skin color. TOTAL LIE. BILLIONS in damages, businesses destroyed and many cops have been executed by BLM supporters. No one was banned!!!

 

Without explanation? Surely you jest. FB and the rest of progressive-allied social media couldn't be more clear that they believe guns, gun enthusiasts, the 2A and self defense in general are an evil that they must crush BAMN (with the exception of their own loyal private security forces, of course).

 

And, so what?

If you can find enough people who share your outrage, then feel free to start a PAC or make a MoveOn.org petition to shut down Facebook.

Write your Congressperson.

Posting easily dismantled "Facebook Bad" talking points at an internet forum won't change a thing.

Once again, FB can do whatever they want.
If anybody doesn't like it they can move on (or start their own Platform).

Does it ever occur to you that others who are serious about protecting THEIR RIGHTS, might stop trying to play by the rules if those rules are always ignored by one group? I mean, do you REALLY believe all it takes to shut down Americans who are demanding 2A be respected is to censor their public outreach? You guys need to sober up and look around before all of us wind up in a worse America than we have today.

 

Only if Congress continues to innoculate them from legal jeopardy. Section 230 reform is a reasonably bipartisan issue. Repealing 230 would effectively end social media. Also, you'd think by now folks would grasp the dangers of so suppressing free speech that it has to go below the radar. I guess not so much...

What does it have to do with guns (the subject of this thread) or freedom of speech? Europe is safer (by a long shot) and has more freedom of speech than any American who hasn't lived here can even imagine. You think that because I complain about dramatic changes here in Sweden that it's a typical American mentality "with us or against us" statement. This is the very reason why the U.S. has never amounted to anything. I know both the great achievements and bad points of my country and I am not afraid to say so in the hopes that we can improve it. Make no mistake, Europe, in general, is a far, far better place to live and it has less violence and more freedom than the U.S. so don't give me your "not surprising from a European" comments. My comment was (is) about glorifying the gun and how I am an "anti-gun" advocate. 1). American shoot-em-up statistics is enough to want the gun banned and 2). Those who feel the same way are not all European. Americans are blasting one another to death and then complaining, "We need more guns!"

What are you complaining about? The gripe has been that FaceBook is removing posts that do not conform to an agenda ie. stifling freedom of expression. Is it true or is it not? The people who disagree with FaceBook are moving over to Parler because it has been reported as being superior in "freedom of expression". This may or may not be a misconception believing that Parler will remove posts that do not conform to the opposite view. Do you want freedom of expression ..... or are you just looking for a safe space?

This site was extremely RW up until about a year or so ago.
Perhaps even less. There was only 1 moderator doing 80% of the moderation. And trump was a big influence on that mod.
Say something against trump, get banned.
There are now more moderators working more often. And the extreme bias went.

It's amazing how much people like Talon continue to cling to the lie that there is “wholesale partisan banning” on Facebook and Twitter. As I’ve pointed out to these people before it’s real simple...play by the rules of said social media platform and you won’t get banned. They act as if they’re getting banned for simply posting that they are conservative.

 

FB can ban who they want whenever they want.

 

Kathy Griffey was banned from EVERYTHING. She couldn’t get a gig in a laundromat. She WAS banned, literally from making a living.

Trump DID lock kids in cages. The Trump administration policies actually caused the permanent separation of children form their parents. So you want people banned for telling the truth ?

There are almost a half a million people dead due to covid. YES, that was on Trumps watch. Not all of them died because of his action, but a god percentage did because of his inaction, and his downplaying of basic safety guards. Presidents are supposed to be leaders, and when they fail at their job will be blamed for things like he was. Hell, thats been the standard since Washington was a general.....

I never supported BLM and their methods. My position is very clear on that, and I have a long history of posts to show that. BUT, looting a target store is one thing, and storming the capital to overthrow the government is something completely different.

 

Facebook and Twitter stopped hate speech, and radical speech designed to incite.

People went to parlor because they allowed radical ideals to flow and allowed radical speech that incited violence. But moreover, they went their for confirmation bias. Somewhere they didn’t have to read anything that challenged what they wanted to believe. Facts and Truth have no place in Parlor, its just an echo chamber of common ideals, that are allowed to become radicalized as the echos come back even more radical.

And that in a nutshell is whats wrong in America today. We can blame ourselves, but the removal of the fairness doctrine in 1987 was the precipice of this, and the downfall of truth in America.

 

They are essentially using their position as an 800 lb. gorilla to determine what ideas do and do not get aired in the "public square". They should not do that, even if the law says they can.

 

That's part of the reason I do none of those sites.

 

Facebook can do what it wants and continue to lose its user base. Organize in real life, not online.
