    Well, I'd have to let others answer that! But I took a sabbatical about 10 years ago with my two daughters and (then) wife along with my sister and her hubby and their daughter on Irie, a 37' catamaran. We went sailing up the ditch (inter-coastal waterway) to Chesapeake Bay, across the pond (Atlantic) to Europe, visited Portugal, Spain, France and Corsica before heading back across the ocean to Trinidad and up the Winwards and Leewards to PR, DR, and then up the Bahamas back to Miami. A little over a year and a half and about 18,000 nautical miles.

    Here's Irie anchored in the Tobago Cays, in the Grenadines, in the Windward Islands:

    We sold Irie when we got back -- didn't need a boat that big and expensive. I now own a 35' monohull (Island Girl) with a couple other guys I use to sail Biscayne Bay with trips to the Keys and Bahamas on occasion.

    It was a great trip. I hope to take another one one day.

    You will! That is an awesome sight. Now I see why you are so well read. They say travel is lethal to bigotry. I believe travel is one of the best education tools we will ever have, if offered that chance. And it is obvious, travel has rubbed off nicely onto you.

    Spring and summer are drawing near, so I want a pro-active update real soon.

    Thank you! That is very nice of you to say. I think your observations are well found. In my general experience, people who have traveled and spent some time in foreign places tend to have a more open view on things.

    Nope sorry, the GOP bill Clinton signed wasn't the cause of Dubya's subprime ponzi scheme he cheered on in the Banksters world wide credit bubble!
