Would you have preferred the Black Death?

And when a million people don't die and get shoved in mass graves, as many LW Chicken Littles assured us they would, Dems/Lefties would cry:

    "GAWDAMMIT! TRUMP LIED TO US!"

    But he told Woodward:
“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in the Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus.”

Oh well if some people thought it would be worse than it is, then it’s ok for him to lie to us and tell Woodward the truth.

I never claimed I could prove a particular individual passed COVID-19 on to another person.

Wear a mask or stay home. If you want to protect yourself, wear an N95 or better. If you don't care about yourself, wear a homemade cloth mask.

I asked you FDR said there is nothing to fear but fear itself.........was that downplaying it? Or was that leadership in trying to keep the public calmed and not panic'd?

Are you saying they are not comparable? Do you know how many people die from the flue every year even with the vaccines we have? For YEARS when I shop at my local Walmart I have grabbed one of those swipe cloths to make sure I didn't pick up flue viruses or others virus or bacteria. Is it worse that the flu? That depends on who gets it it can be very dangerous. Is it more dangerous than the normal seasonal flues, again that depends. How many people would still be dying from the flu if we didn't have any vaccines?

Trump declared a public health emergency under the Public Health Service Act on Jan. 31. He also issued the travel ban from China the same day. He expanded it to Europe two weeks later. You weren't taking it serious back then?

So what would Biden have said different and be specifically on what he did say at the time, not his backtracking after the fact? How about Cuomo who was the other with his own advisers?

If you think Democrats are so bad, you can secede or maybe they'll get tired of supporting poorer Republican states and leave themselves.

If only there were a way to exude calm, while explaining the facts, without causing a panic.

    If only.

What is this stuff about? We have more COVID-19 than other countries. Trump dropped the ball.
    No, he couldn't stop testing.

You sill haven't explained this mess...

~ There are none. There are few studies on masks. There is a little more data on respirators - which are not "masks".
    ~ That's how he earned the nickname " flip-flop Fauci " .

LOL. Take a spray bottle with water. Spray it into the air. Take notes on where the mist flies. Spray the same bottle into a paper towel. Take notes on where the mist flies. Is it less? YES!!!

Yay!! Positive proof that masks help, at least some, since the disease does travel in water droplets.

    Are they perfect? No.

What preventive measures are 100% perfect?

~ As you know a virus molecule is much smaller than liquid. I suppose if someone is drooling and coughing a mask could help - but they would have to also be contagious. This is why Fauci mentioned "droplets".
Interesting that due to liability concerns masks are now labeled as not effective in preventing covid19. Still a good idea to have one if in close contact with others.
I doubt surgical masks in public are more than 10% effective. I suspect not touching our face and using hand sanitizer helps the most.

Does WHO recommend the use of fabric masks for the general public?

At the present time, the widespread use of masks everywhere is not supported by high-quality scientific evidence, and there are potential benefits and harms to consider.

However, there are some settings in which it may not be possible to keep physical distancing and the use of a mask could be helpful to provide a barrier to limit the spread of potentially infectious droplets from someone who is infected. In addition, there is some evidence which suggests that some infected people without showing symptoms may be able to transmit the virus others.

For this reason, WHO advises that governments should encourage the use of non-medical fabric masks, which can act as a barrier to prevent the spread of the virus from the wearer to others where there are many cases of COVID-19, for people in the general public where physical distancing of at least 1 metre is not possible – such as, on public transport, in shops or in other confined or crowded environments.

It is important to note that masks should only be used as part of a comprehensive strategy. Masks on their own will not protect you from COVID-19. People should also clean their hands frequently and maintain a distance of at least 1 metre from others.

Oh, speeches were he lies and says the virus will go away? Where he says additional testing finds more positives and that's why our numbers are so high? Where he urges his followers to pressure a state governor to open up contrary to standards set out by his White House task force? Where he touts cures on tv?
No, I wanted him to give a speech announcing a program that would get the new case count down, help for workers and businesses impacted by shutdowns or simply a lack of customers because of the virus, help for state governments, an all-out effort to produce effective PPE that protects the wearer (new types, too), and that we would put money into a look for cures, treatments, vaccines.

~ WHO is the last place to look for advice. They got us into this mess in the first place !
The CDC recommends the USA on these matters. They are proponents of masks in close contact with others. However they do not advice wearing them outdoors or when exercising.
There is so little research and experience dealing with pandemic / epidemic that it seems we are learning as we go. Fortunately children seem to be immune.

Your idea that people should be penalized, I believe it was fined or jailed, for infecting other people. If you can't prove who passed COVID-19 onto another person, then you cannot support your statement that they should be fined or jailed.

    Yes or no?

Wear a mask if it makes you feel better. While you are entitled to your opinions, if I stay home or not, wear a mask or not, is not your concern.

Oh like the scientist were saying when temperatures went up?
You wanted him to say it would he here forever and we will all die?

Which is statisitcally true as Cuomo also noted.

Where he gauges the measures necessary to do so but if your position is everything should be shutdown then pledge to me you have not and will not then blame him for the economy.

Oh he should have been tauting it is incureable.

He has done all that and more what he hasn't done as you want is try to create a panic.

No, they don't and we both know they would be fans of You Know Who...

You're a fan of the Liar-in-Chief. Old Proverb: "Lie with dog, get up with flea."
All local government is under state control. If there's a problem in St. Louis, the Republican governor wears it; if there's a problem in Atlanta, the Republican governor of Georgia wears it.

Sorta spoils your Blame Democrats Plan.

I condemn Antifa, BLM organizers (when they're violent), arsonists, looters, rioters, anyone who attacks police, and militias when they're violent or invade minority communities. How about you? Do you condemn militias?
Sooo, Fox News doesn't talk about looters, arsonists, and rioters as "protesters?" Where have you been?
How about militias who drive through minority communities shooting people with paintballs?
I taught high school history and you would have flunked with that BS propaganda you can't support.

You're a poster boy for how extreme the GOP have become. Sanders used to be a socialist and switched to democratic socialism when the Soviet Union fell apart and even China moved away from socialism. Still, you call Sanders a socialist.
What's your point about these two? Winstanley opposed "enclosures" that left poor people landless in England. Babeuf was a French socialist who was executed for his political agitation.
    Straw Man Alert!

I have university training in economics. Democratic socialism is probably best associated with countries like Denmark and Sweden. Clement Attlee was a garden variety Labour politician who initiated the NHS, and nationalized some industries.

Look at the rate of positives. We have more because Trump dropped the ball.

Here is how our northern neighbor is doing compared to us.

Of course we have more we are testing more...and yeah I guess that is Trump's fault...but I don't think that's dropping the ball...I am gald we are testing....we know Biden wouldn't do taht....because that's what he did with H1N1....

Who knows how many died from that since Biden stopped testing,....the estimates by the CDC is about 60 million Americans had the test....hard to say how many actually died from it.

Ignoring it...the Biden plans for pandeimcs

No, my idea is to fine (or jail) people for not wearing a mask.
I'd fine you 5% of your annual income for not wearing a mask.
