    How is that not clear? Who is Mueller, and the crime is accessing private records he has no right to access. Kinda like if I hacked your etrade password and used it for personal benefit.

    Yes, but the FBI will most certainly NOT investigate Hitlery and her foundation or her actions while Sec State. No, "the Agency" will pass on that. LOL

    I am fairly certain that this is a much more important story than the sidebar treatement it is getting in the media at the moment. Of course, if it develops, the right wing media will do its level best to ignore it

    One has to recall that the Russian objective is to undermine the United States, by dividing the people and undermining confidence in the institutions of government and democracy. Corruption is a natural ally in such an effort.

    And corruption of an institutional kind has wracked right wing organizations for decades. Many prominent right wing groups are little more than fundraising scams designed to enrich the people who run them. The most egregious example of that that I can think of off hand is Ben Carson's "Presidential Campaign" which was little more than a direct mail fundraising scam.

    Things like the fake HannityNorth, "Freedom Tours"thing also come to mind.

    The tea party of 2010 was 100% astroturf.

    Introduce the Russians into this melieu and the opportunties are endless.

    Using a Russian agent to penetrate the top ranks of the NRA for the purpose of laundering Russians money into campaigns of GOP candidates makes perfect sense. And the NRA, and any number of other right wing organizations would be only too happy to launder the money for the appropriate rake off the top.

    (Before you gun nuts and Trumpsters start yelling about how this wouldn't or can't happen, I suggest you familiarize yourself with one "Casino Jack" Abramoff. You'll see Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed and John Cornyn pop up in that cast of characters, not to mention "Hot Tub Tommy" DeLay.).

    As a Russian agent, Butina's job is to corrupt and undermine. So penetrating the power apparatus of the GOP in order to spread a cloud of corruption would be in keeping with her mission.

    So would getting caught.

    That is, if you can make a plea deal that allows you to rat out the NRA, a long list of recipients of Russians money via the NRA, and the Trump campaign.

    After all, helping Trump become PResident was a belated Russians goal. And destroying him once they helped install him would serve the overall Russian agenda.

    I hope we see a lot more about this. I know we will see more. But I hope (without too much confidence) that it get a lot more attention than it is getting now.

    While I agree that it does need a lot more attention but what we have now is akin to a 3 ring circus undergoing a fire drill while doing a mass evacuation during an earthquake.

    There are just so many things going on competing for attention not even the 24*7 news cycle can keep up.

    This is an important issue because it pertains directly to campaign finance under the nefarious auspices of Citizens United. This is one of the core issues that MUST be addressed in order for We the People to take back our nation.

    We cannot allow ourselves to be distracted from that goal which means that bringing up topics of this nature is important.

    That's the question investigators are trying to answer. Where is the tie? If the Russians gave money to the NRA (they did) and the NRA scrubbed it up and parceled it out to the Trump campaign (looks they did), that's money laundering. It's also racketeering.

    How exactly does the NRA give more than the law allows, their money plus Russian money? Commie Democrats telling us that the NRA is in bed with commies, kind of hard to believe.

    Trump put almost no money in his campaign. His self financing claims were just another typical example of his trademarks serial lies.

    The Trump campaign was going broke in the weeks after the Conventions. It wasn't until Robert Mercer stepped in, that things stabilized.

    Kelly Ann Conway is Robert Mercer's person inside the White House.

    Even as we wait for the final word on Russia funneling the money through the NRA, there is no question that the NRA gave Trump a record amount in contributions and yes, it was more than likely Russkie bucks.

    When are you commie loving Socialists going to get it through your commie Socialist heads, we didn't vote for Clinton because we don't want your stinking filthy commie socialist crap running our government? The last NRA sticker I had said, "NEWT," they couldn't influence squat, YOU are why I voted for Trump, and would do so again given the same choice between him and your Socialist Party.

    If you look into it you'll find foreign money has always been working its way into our politics. The degrees of legality in campaign finance are quite specific but the ways in which money moves are vastly numerous.
