A federal appeals court ruled in favor of two pro-life groups in Louisville, Kentucky, who filed a lawsuit after the city erected “buffer zones” to prevent pro-life groups from praying or demonstrating near abortion clinics.

In May 2021, the Louisville City Council passed an ordinance that created 10-foot-wide “buffer zones” outside of healthcare facilities, with abortion clinics also falling under this ordinance, according to the Courier Journal. The judges agreed with the Kentucky Right to Life (KRL) and Sisters for Life (SL) organizations who argued that their First Amendment rights were being stripped as a result of the city’s buffer zones prohibiting them from even praying outside the EMW Abortion clinic in Louisville.

The majority opinion, written by Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings, argued that KRL and SL faced “irreparable Harm” from the ordinance and stated their case was likely to succeed on the merits in other courts. his news as reported by the Daily Caller News Foundation is very good. The restrictions on free speech in this country are excessive. This is a good remedy. The court got this one exactly right.

Some people are so thin skinned that they can’t tolerate the expression of differing points of view. This seems to happen far more often on the left than on the right where opposing points of view are muzzled. In this case the courts undid such a circumstance.

You don’t support the right to peacefully protest?

I think a buffer zone makes sense. Protesting is one thing. Interfering with activities you don't like is another. It's true that MLK certainly did interference as part of his protesting, but it was a step up from rioting.

This post is 100% pure refined hypocrisy: They want to protest? That's 'disgusting'! Partisans on my side should protest them worshiping their God, with guns!

That’s my impression as well. That they’d want to use guns to stop prayer…

It isn’t hypocrisy — hypocrisy would be saying I don’t think they should be able to protest but my side should.

I believe in equality, if the christofascists and incels larping can protest openly at clinics and libraries then people should do the same at their sky fairy houses.

Look up the definition and if you are still having issues we can discuss it

Lots of Churches and crisis pregnancy centers have been on the receiving end of vandalism and fire bombings since the Supreme Court decision was leaked. Federal law enforcement organizations don’t even care.

So you think being armed at a place to protest is peaceful? That might be the liberal and msm definition but it’s not reality.

Ah so you are against armed protesters outside State House buildings? What about libraries?

I haven’t seen you express this newfound belief?

Those people are only there to scold, harass and intimidate around.
It's worse than the Westboro Baptist Church.
    You apparently have no idea.

It is a shame you could not present your analogies, which really strip issues down to their cores, to the SCOTUS. (Alternately, it is a shame that you aren't a cult leader, able to send people out, to demonstrate the Court's partisan hypocrisies.)

And here is the proof of that thin skin-- but I don't think that these are Lefties:

Are you referring to your own post, with your initial line? Because protesting with guns, is
good enough for a state house, or a governor's mansion, or-- in the view of a certain stripe-- outside a ballot box, yes?

Your use of the word "hypocrisy," is ironically funny; and a pathetic demonstration of self-induced blindness (or outright, disingenuous, double standards).

You totally missed Cd8ed's clear point, which was to reflect the behavior you feel should be protected, outside of a healthcare facility which performs abortions, but in a different setting. There is no objective reason, for greater restrictions around a church, as opposed to around an abortion clinic.

But, OK to stop other things, right? And that's not a double-standard, why?

Oh, please-- you are unaware of violence, targeted at abortion clinics?

And the most hypocritical, of all:

So, to confirm: you are saying that any armed protest is, by definition, not peaceful protest?

You said it; I have never seen more blatant hypocrisy.

No, I wasn't looking for an example of hypocrisy. I was noting that I found a perfect one, in your post.

    How is my post hypocritical?

I support equality under the law, if these people can protest at clinics why shouldn’t people be able to protest at their places of worship?
