Have you studied at all? that has happened before...the roman empire made the gladiators fight for their profit. Egypt built the pyramids by enslaving blacks. America built the railroads by using black slaves.

We took texas and calfornia from mexico by using our military. It has always been like this. IRAQ was was started by corporations for the oil. WE USE OUR OWN ALL THE TIME for profit.

    it's happening everywhere...get over it.

Do real Christians advocate the murder of thousands of innocent people?
    Matthew 25:34-40

"34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

OK. And one more lap around the track for me, then it is off for steaks and martinis, served to me by a skimpily attired, tip inspired, provacative waitress, of lower economic social order, hired specifically for her tatas and great legs, by the corporate, meat lobbyist supporting Keg Inc.

I don't think there is any grand conspiracy regarding this. It smells of liberal hyperbole, as this is their usual tactical spin. Even if it was, I think there are enough other issues, that don't involve convicts, whatever their pigmentation, for me to genuinely care about...with victims rights, via penal and parole reforms being made to the system, being more towards the top of the proverbial pile.

Let's play with the conspiracy, that it is a new Dem voting block initiative, for those flagging numbers of union votes. Rise up! Rise up! Con Power against the man. :)

Labor is dead, all that remains is the funeral. Your concern for conflict of interest is well placed. We all realize the correlation between poverty & crime. Some Americans aren't only poor, they're oppressed. I do agree that allowing inmates to develop skills they otherwise wouldn't have has a lot of positives. These are all mainstream sources:

Um... no? Why would anybody get over something despicable like that? Standing by and allowing people to be degraded into a "subhuman class" as someone put it in this thread, is absolutely terrifying. Man, you're a really good Christian, apparently.

Just the fact that you nor I could find any other sources of the information in your article tells us it's just more Internet Lies as usual.

ok you win the thread. it was someone like you that i made this thread for. i knew that you would show up and either qualify it or debunk it based om merit and source. thank you for taking the time. id rep you but i don't know how. as it stands, im very concerned as this will end up being horribly abused and exploited for mere profit.

Just to respond further on the permit idea since I am short on time. Look at fishing licenses for example. You can fish without one. May even get away with it for a period of time, but when the DNR does get you, you will wish you just shelled out the money for the license in the first place. Same with hunting without tags. Make the fines you pay stiff enough for non compliance and I think more than not would go the legal route. Just my theory.

Anything is better than the current system though where profits are funneled to the worst people. I believe the gateway effect would be greatly reduced if pot was made legal as well since most of that effect stems from purchasing from shady people who's income depends on getting you hooked on harder substances. Again though just a theory.

First I'd like to say I definitely respect the fact you have a plan and have thought about it. The only primary difference I see with the permits is that you can grow in your home. Which means the authorities have many fewer opportunities to enter and find out, unlike fishing where you must travel to a river, lake, stream, or whatever body of water. I suppose it would probably be comparable to how many people get building permits for interior work only, too hard to hide an addition to the house. I appreciate the thought you put into it, perhaps we can discuss the matter later.

As mentioned, the war between controlling interests or capital & labor is as old as civilization itself. Where we're heading now, we've already been and there's people in here celebrating it. I once read that in the U.S. there were over 300 labor editors back in the 1930s. Labor issues were all they wrote about. Today there are but a handful.

Thank you for the compliment... oh, and I checked out your website. I'm only a novice, but it appears you have light & shade completely mastered! I would burn a lot of those settings you make look spectacular. e:

Man, get outta here. No one is going to support prisioners or feel sorry for them. Admit it, you're only here to promote your photography.
