I had to look it up, but Mareen Dowd represents the New York Times which is a liberal newspaper. But her representation is mitigated by the fact that she writes an OP-Ed column which usually comes with the caveat "The opinions and views of the author do not necessarily reflect the views of <Insert Newspaper Here>"

On the subject of the topic of the thread; Felonious Monk's video. Why do you contend that his opinion carries more weight because he is black?
