I assumed, perhaps mistakenly, had some cachet of popular culture recognition. If he's a total nobody then his weight is simply in the 20-1 odds he's bucking by being an American black that's disenchanted with Obama. It's wrapped up in Bayes Theorem. It's man bites dog.
All indications are that he is not any sort of hip hop artist.....or if he is...he is not exactly going platinum. If he were equivalent to the stature of Kanye West, I could see the point you are trying to make. But there really isn't anything notable about the 20-1 oddball speaking up either....especially when there just seems to be one highlighted here. If I posted a clip of a white person professing what a great job congress is doing (13% approval rating) what exactly could we take from that singular opinion? -Would it say something about white people? -Would it validate congress?
Rip off.I thought it might be the Jazz Pianist Great Theolonious Monk coming back from the Grave to scold a BROTHER. D@mn ... Was Thelonious gifted at the chops. His riffs were amazing.I wonder what instrument Obama ever practiced. Most Great men played somethin. Did y'all know Jimmy Stewart played the accordion. Maybe Obama practiced the Mouth harmonica, but never got around to actually buying a harmonica.
This analogy falls flat. The Maureen Dowd example is much more on point. She fronts for a cohort that is close to lock step behind Obama. Breaking from that carries much more weight than conformity with the herd.
