I stated in the post you are referencing that not all Sunni in Syria were "Islamists" - believe in forcing Sharia on others through physical violence/Holy Jihad. ( It is a big jumbled though and I apologize for that).

The Sunni that are the rebel opposition (armed insurgents) are united in wanting in force Sharia on the people of Syria through violence/Holy Jihad.

That Shia in Iran do the same has no bearing on "the rebels" because these are not the rebels. I do not care whether it is Shia or Sunni Islamists... they are all human garbage.

In Syria the people fighting for Assad are fighting for "secularism" (no sharia/theocracy). The Rebel opposition are fighting against secularism ... this is what the call to Holy Jihad is all based on and what their ideology is based on - forcing strict sharia on the people of Syria through physical violence/Holy Jihad.

So please explain the grey to me ?

Everyone has their viewpoint, and one has to take it into account. The problem is when the exact same views are being presented by all the corporate owned media. When that happens, then one has to wonder what's going on since it ceases to be news, and becomes brain washing.

No one in the American coalition will ever admit something. And if they can't avoid it, then they present it as an accident like the bombing of the Syrian army at Deir Ez Zor. What they will do is immediately accuse Russia, knowing that what they say will remain in people's mind even if proven wrong later. It's a brainwashing technique, and its used to demonize nations before going to war.

There is a big difference. There are civilian casualties when attacking military targets. And there is a direct attack civilian targets. The first happens at all. The second is just across US allies.

Sorry for late reply, but I was 1 week in "internet free holiday"...

Sure ... different point of views are a good thing and part of freedom of speech too ... and what Voltaire told centuries ago "Je ne suis pas d'accord avec ce que vous dites, mais je me battrai jusqu'au bout pour que vous puissiez le dire" (I do not agree with what you say but I will fight to the end for your right to say it) is not only threaten by censoring and more worse acts against media, but also by corporate owned media too.

BUT Jeannette ... it is not only the sort of corporate press which is a threat, it is also the government controlled media too and as well we have this other sort of media which is using their constitutional rights to spread around bad propaganda lies. Aside your liked sources ... will you believe any of this Nazi Propaganda media platforms in Internet & Co.? I don't think so ... and this is the problem! There are foolish sorts of such media existing where any idiot must see that they sell propaganda rubbish as "News", but also smarter one too but all of them are like a sponge searching and soaking anything which can be used to spread hate against there "enemy".

Point is at least that the pure news in core is rarely reported anywhere, but always reported with commenting of the journalist and this is always backed with his personal opinion and / or of the broadcasting company he is working for! And this does not only include the reported news, but also which are un-reported and so unknown for majority too!

    Guardian Front Page Channels Orwell’s 1984 -
    https://off-guardian.org/2016/10/20/guardian-front-page-channels-orwells-1984/

Reading the “liberal” press has become a truly Orwellian experience. What was true
yesterday is a lie today. What was black today will be white tomorrow. Two reports
on today’s front page of the Guardian could easily be savage satire straight from
the pages of the novel 1984.

    Report one:
The Guardian provides supportive coverage of the beginning of a full-throttle assault
by Iraqi forces, backed the US and UK, on Mosul to win it back from the jihadists
of ISIS – an assault that will inevitably lead to massive casualties and humanitarian
    suffering among the civilian population.

    Report two:
The Guardian provides supportive coverage of the US and UK for considering increased sanctions
against Syria and Russia. On what grounds? Because Syrian forces, backed by Russia, have been
waging a full-throttle assault on Aleppo to win it back from the jihadists of ISIS and Al-Qaeda – an
assault that has led to massive casualties and humanitarian suffering among the civilian population.

The best site on the internet for getting factual accounts with actual quotes is Moon of Alabama. I found the Russian versions of events conform more to what he says , than anything coming from the MSM ... which frankly make me sick to my stomach with their lies. There are other good American investigative sites such as Washingtonsblog, and Consortiumnews... I have a whole list of them, so I have a basic idea of what to believe and who to trust even though I might not agree with all their views.

I like to read or hear Vladimir Putins speeches first hand, and I agree with him in everything ...while with Obama and the rest of his Trotskyite regime, I'm appalled at their lies and hypocrisy. Whatever they do, they immediately flip it and accuse Russia or Assad of doing it. It's like a game to them where right and wrong simply does not exist, and where only the most cunning and corrupt win.

This will not hold. To suggest it will misunderstands the cause of strife in the Middle East for the past century. Any withdrawal will be met with a resurgent insurgency soon enough. Perpetual war is both the only solution, and the desired solution. Creates economic growth, protects globalist interests.

The mainstream media won't touch certain 'factual accounts' because they're bought and paid for. Almost all of the media is owned by 4/5 conglomerates, all of which are part of the power elite - I mean, how else would they get to build up multi-billion £/$ media businesses? High quality programming and principled, investigative journalism? Forget it, when by toeing the party line and getting billions of £ of loans from the banksters, with easy payment terms, so long as they don't do anything untoward!

It's also the agenda of the global elitists - it enables them to control the masses: it enables them to keep increasing taxes, and restricting human rights, in the pretence of protecting those masses from the omnipresent 'enemy'.

Here we have it again and the "evil train" on which you jumped on too...

What the hack is wrong with Trotzky in general ... aside the nonsense to use him to compare with Obama?
He lost internal "war" against Stalin and was killed by the NKWD under Berilia and Stalin and honestly ... his thinking of communism was far better of that from the mass murder Stalin!
And here we have now the next point coming ... if not from you, there are many others. There are really some hardcore brain washed people existing which deny that Stalin was a mass murder and they deny everything with what Staling is accused to have done. Even the grave yards in Russia and complete Ex-USSR tell the pure truth! And if this does not help, then will now come next point that he won war against Hitler ... etc.

I let a nice Jewish girl answer your question Gilos. It's amazing how many things you've got in common with Saudis, isn't it? Strange bedfellows indeed.

Israel and Saudi Arabia: Strange Bedfellows in the New Middle East

Israel and Saudi Arabia are burying the hatchet. For at least 10 reasons, that's not such a good idea.

    http://fpif.org/israel-saudi-arabia-strange-bedfellows-new-middle-east/

Here are some traits Saudi Arabia and Israel have in common.

    1. Oppression

Both oppress the non-dominant groups living in their borders. Israel oppresses Palestinians, building settlements on their land and surrounding their villages with apartheid walls and heavily armed soldiers. Saudi Arabia has set up a political and judicial system that oppresses everyone who’s not Sunni (like Shiites and non-Muslims), as well as women and millions of migrant workers.

Both nations respond to political dissidents in similar ways, using excessive force, arbitrary and indefinite detention, intimidation, and torture.

    2. Aggression

Israel and Saudi Arabia have each invaded neighboring lands, killing thousands of civilians. Israel has been recurrently invading and bombing Gaza since 2008. In 2014 alone the Israeli military killed 2,104 people — most of them civilians — and destroyed 17,200 homes and left 475,000 living in emergency conditions.

The Saudis have meanwhile interfered in the internal affairs of neighboring Yemen. In March 2015, they launched a vicious bombing campaign directed at Shiite rebels in the country. So far they’ve killed over 6,000 mostly civilian Yemenis. They’ve bombed markets, schools, hospitals, residences, and wedding parties, displacing over 2.5 million people.

Additionally, both use weapons that have been internationally banned: Israel used white phosphorus in Gaza, while the Saudis have used cluster bombs in Yemen.

    3. Religious Discrimination

Religion plays a key role in the politics of both nations.

Israel is considered the homeland for the Jewish people, and the Basic Laws of Israel that serve in place of a constitution define the country as a Jewish state. Jews get preferential treatment, such as the right to immigrate to Israel from anywhere and automatically become citizens, while Muslims face daily discrimination and are treated as second-class citizens.

In Saudi Arabia, Mecca is the holiest city for Muslims, and the Saudi kingdom considers itself the global center of Islam. Only Muslims can become Saudi citizens, and non-Muslims are treated like second-class citizens.

    4. Violent Exports

Both countries export “products” that promote violence. Israel is a major exporter of weapons, and Israeli forces often train police in other countries — including the United States — in repressive techniques. The Saudis export the extremist Sunni ideology called Wahhabism all over the Middle East and North Africa. Wahhabism is the ideological basis of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.

    5. Hatred of Iran

More than anything else, it’s a shared hatred of Iran that’s bringing these adversaries together. Both view Iran as an existential threat and fear Tehran’s growing influence in the region. They both opposed the Iran nuclear deal that was such a great win for diplomacy over war, and they share a determination to stop the United States from getting any closer to Iran.

    6. Support for Egypt’s Coup

Both nations supported the military coup in Egypt, led by General Adbul Fattah el Sisi, which overthrew a democratically elected government and led to a brutal wave of repression that put 40,000 dissidents in prison. The Saudis have stepped in with billions of dollars to fill the Sisi regime’s coffers, and Egypt has collaborated with Israel in Israel’s continued siege of Gaza.

    7. Intervention in Syria

Both Israel and Saudi Arabia are more concerned with overthrowing the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad (who’s aligned with Iran) than defeating the Islamic State. To that end, they’ve been supporting extremist groups in Syria like the Nusra Front, which is an al-Qaeda affiliate.

The Saudis have sent weapons and money to Nusra. For its part, Israel has been treating wounded Nusra fighters in Israeli hospitals and then sending them back to battle the Syrian army. Israel also killed Lebanese and Iranian advisers who were assisting Assad’s government in fighting against Al Nusra.

    (Photo: CodePink)

    8. Young Political Prisoners

Both nations lock up thousands of political prisoners, including minors. In February 2016, Israel had 6,204 Palestinians in prison, 438 of them minors. Many of the minors are imprisoned for throwing stones at Israeli soldiers. The Saudis have beheaded minors, and presently have three prisoners facing execution who were arrested as juveniles for nonviolent protests.

    9. Robust Washington Lobbies

They both spend many millions of dollars to influence U.S. policy.

The Israeli government enjoys the backing of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which is often considered the most influential foreign policy lobby group in the United States.

The Saudis have just started their own version called SAPRAC, or the Saudi American Public Relations Affairs Committee. For years they’ve been buying influence by contracting influential public relations and law firms like the Podesta Group and donating to the Clinton Foundation, the Carter Foundation, and dozens of think tanks and Ivy League universities.

    10. Alliances with the United States

Finally, both countries are long-time allies of the United States. Subsequent U.S. administrations have supported Israel since its founding in 1948; they’ve also supported an array of Saudi kings since the founding of that nation in 1932.

The U.S. has helped guarantee the security of both nations. U.S. taxpayers give over $3 billion a year to support the Israeli military, the U.S. military guards the Persian Gulf for the Saudi royalty, and Saudi Arabia is the No. 1 purchaser of U.S. weapons.

Some say it’s good for Israel and Saudi Arabia to bury the hatchet and find common ground. But peace in the Middle East won’t be furthered by the causes they’re collaborating on.

Instead, Israel has to make peace with the Palestinians, and Saudi Arabia has to come to terms with Iran. Otherwise, Saudi-Israeli collusion will only be a fatal embrace that causes more heartbreak for the region.
