The top lawyer for the Florida commission that investigates and prosecutes election law violations is facing charges of possession of child pornography.

Eric M. Lipman, general counsel for the Florida Elections Commission, was arrested Wednesday on 11 counts of the crime. He was taken to the Leon County Detention Center and later released.

Another Republican arrested for sexual perversions, while this is definitely worse than the normal of prostitutes, porn stars, adultery and rape allegations it seems like a strange trend going on in some parts of the Republican Party that once stood for “family values”, morals and fiscal responsibility. He also was involved in numerous other organizations with access to children — hopefully none of them were harmed by him.

I wonder how many other officials that 'can't find any evidence of election fraud' are going to turn out having this kind of stuff in their closets...

He should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don't see any correlation to political party unless you're trying to make the case the democrats are never involved in crimes like this.

Republicans have two confirmed — Greenberg & Lipman — and one that is under major investigation Gaetz. All are Floridians. All in the past few weeks. And another just abandoned their run because of confirmed adultery.

That isn’t just a coincidence but rather a issue of character

Would you mind expounding on that? What exactly do you mean?

I'm suggesting 'The top lawyer for the Florida commission that investigates and prosecutes election law violations' may have deliberately undermined investigations into whether there was foul play involved in the 2020 election for fear that something like this might be made public, and also that this dynamic might be at play in other parts of the nation with other similarly key officials.

And yes, I know this is a conspiracy theory.

Still don't see how political party has anything to do with this. I'll ask again, since you skirted around it, are you stating that democrats do not commit these types of crimes or commit adultery? Careful, this could be a trap.

I still don't follow. You think his investigation (or lack thereof) would have exposed his illegal child porn? It seems like that would be more reason to do a really good job with the investigation. Only time will tell but it could be the reverse as well. What if he is being set-up and punished for not overturning the election results?

Regardless, it's disgusts me that anybody in a position of power is associated with anything that harms a child. Revolting.

I think its pretty useful blackmail material that certain elements within our power structure would be unlikely to let go to waste. You do make a good point tho- if it were successfully used as blackmail, we wouldn't know about it, unless the blackmailers found it useful to burn their 'trust' with other blackmailees.

Again with the assumptions. You should really work on that. I noted his political affiliation because he is currently in office and there has been a recent grouping of Republicans in FL with some major scandals.

I did not mention Democrats as they are not involved in this story so it is impossible for me to have asserted “that democrats do not commit these types of crimes or commit adultery”. If you need to vent about them feel free to start a new thread.

If you want to “set a trap” I would recommend using something besides logical fallacies as bait.

Care to discuss the topic or are you done here?

Nope, you tried to tie it to them being in the GOP now you are attempting to wiggle your way out but claiming I'm assuming. I have noticed a trend with you doing similar tactics in various threads. I will continue to call you out each time.

As for those who commit crimes against children or any sexual crimes, they are disgusting humans who don't deserve to live amongst normal society.

I don't think he's trying to claim that Dems are free of these type issues - it's just a comment on how far the Republicans have
shifted away from the "Moral Majority" Party of the Reagan years. Back then, Republicans would have ostracized a party
member who was caught doing this type stuff - now, in the Trump era, they leap to defend the perverts.

Call me out for what exactly? Identifying his occupation? How dare I...

Again, there seems to be a trend in Republican circles in Florida. It is disturbing you are trying to derail this topic because it involves members of your “team”. Disturbing indeed.

They deserve the harshest of penalties.

They did not look for fraud in Fla because Trump won the state.

    No it isn’t.

We have just recently seen a very specific group (Floridian Republicans) with a unusually high number of similar transgressions.

Fun fact: Florida is the only state with major verified fraud

It was also committed by a Republican (I hope @Louisiana75 doesn’t get offended that I mentioned his political affiliation)

Also, completely ignored because it benefited them.

I think I'm starting to see your point. How about we take the murderers in the big cities like Chicago, Detroit, Nola, Baltimore and discuss the trend of which party they belong to?

Not at all, anyone caught committing voter fraud should be prosecuted no matter which party they belong to. Oddly enough, I also feel that way with ALL crimes. And I'm a she, btw.

    Nobody cares about "Whataboutism".:bored:

The subject of this thread is Florida.

People at this forum appreciate people who stay on topic.

Hijacking topics with Whataboutism isn't a good look.

But, if you feel strongly about democratic indiscretions, feel free to start a separate thread.
Instead of posting off-topic in this one.:bored:

Anyway, let's try to get this thread back on to the actual OP topic.

Which is a Florida Election Commission lawyer.

Eric M Lipman (age 59) is listed at 4385 Benchmark Trce Tallahassee, Fl 32317 and is affiliated with the Republican Party. He is a white, non hispanic male registered to vote in Leon County, Florida.

    Wow.
Between Matt Gaetz (and this pedophile pervert) the Florida GOP is a mess.

I changed my stance on capital punishment solely because of child predators. I'll volunteer to shoot them all right between the eyes.

Agreed, if it were my child, I'd be the one on trial for murder.
