40% intelligent moderates 30% crazy right- wingers that insult Obama every 5 seconds 28% crazy left- wingers that insult Bush every 5 seconds 2% just plain stupid
Now that Bachmann's entered the race, we need to adjust the numbers: 49% desperate leftwingers 1% clueless leftwingers 50% real Americans (rightwingers)
5% intelligent, bearable right-wingers. 35% annoying, uneducated right-wingers. 20% capable, intelligent liberals. 5% annoying liberals. 25% right wing trolls pretending to be moderates. 10% actual moderates.
I'd say neutral, with some caveats: Most threads seem unfortunately to devolve into left vs. right pissing contests. This particular thread is no different. Many actually start out as such. There are a few posters who will troll every thread on particular topics, endlessly repeating the same tired crap, rendering it nearly impossible to have an intelligent discussion. There are a number of posters who specialize in ignoring your points, preferring to bait you with off-topic nonsense. Many people here are too stubborn to admit when they're wrong, and will maintain that they're right with increasing absurdity. Few are truly open to reevaluating their positions. The best way to find out is obviously to explore the forum. You'll find many strong ideologists, and a few free thinkers. Me too. When I started there was more balance, but the board began to drift steadily right leading up to and after Obama's election. It has since begun to correct itself, to the point where I think it's now more balanced again, with one difference - more dogmatic ideologists than before. Doubtful. More a matter of choosing one's battles carefully, and recognizing when to bail on threads that have ceased to be worthy of your time.
Neutral, right-leaning forum. If the votes were anonymous, I'd expect it to be more partisan, though.
I find PF to be: 10% intellectually stimulating/challenging 80% regurgitated gristle 2% flat out crazy but still fun to read 3% yell WTF at your screen as you loose faith in all humanity Another 100% spam I truly hate my time on PF and if you claim to be an intellectual, you probably do too. I see tons of one liners with nothing to do with threads and Obama bashing. Usually from the same people on every page.
This forum is neutral with pockets of heavily reinforced obnoxious idealogues that paint an appearance of strong leans (that thankfully congregate in the popular areas). Much earlier in my posting, I was directed to the not-so-popular subforums, and there are some members who are well-reasoned & passionate about objectivity and civility. They truly allow me to question some of my strongest opinions and I appreciate it. All in all, you make of this place what you choose to.
Why are you still here? I only see comments like that from liberals. Why do liberals do things they claim they hate? Why do they argue with people that they claim to think are stupid? Are they just lying? Are they simply at the mercy of their own ego?
It has the appearance of being right leaning only because of the lack of ideological censorship. Liberals think that allowing people to express opinions that liberals dont like (racism for example) is "right wing".
Why do conservatives make broad, sweeping overgeneralizations based on the statements of one person? Are they just ignorant of statistics? Or do they simply have a bigotted way of thinking?
Because some of us have been on this forum a very long time, and have observed this trend directly over a period of years. It isnt based on the statements of one person.
It's more than that if you ignore the people who are clearly incapable of being intellectually stimulating. That's more than half the board now, but there are still some good posters. Apparently, one of Obama's seemingly endless powers is the ability to attract morons to political discussion boards.
