Evangelist Franklin Graham says America's abandonment of God and its embrace of violent entertainment is to blame for a series of mass shootings, including the shooting at a Uvalde, Texas, elementary school that left 19 children and two teachers dead…

…"President Biden and his administration want to ban certain caliber handguns," Graham wrote. "That won't help the problem. What would make a difference is a ban on all of the movies, television shows, and video games graphically depicting gun violence, bloody gore, and death. We are a nation addicted to violence – and they call it entertainment. Until we get a handle on this problem, we will see more and more of these kinds of tragic incidents across our nation."

The nation, Graham said, has a spiritual problem.

"We have taken God out of schools and most homes are leaving God out of the rearing of their children," Graham said. "He is the solution. The more we turn our backs on God and His Word, the more problems we have as individuals and as a nation."…

    F
ranklin Graham is generally right about this. As we let the culture war get away from us, this violence is the logical result of the secular left winning it. Entertainment on tv, movies, video games has become more violent, gruesome, graphic and sexually more permissive and exploitive.

I was unaware you could “ban” something as powerful as a god. How is it you can ban a god but a gun-free ban doesn’t work? Criminals don’t care about rules, this we know. Can we ban Loki? He’s caused me a LOT of trouble in the past.

The reduction of God in our lives, our history, our culture, our nations day to day life and actions is a direct cause of an increase in bad things happening here.

Violent crime has seen a massive reduction in the US while religious unaffiliation has seen an inverse. Maybe we should have banned radical evangelicalism sooner as it seems like there is a correlation (look at the dates)

Slavery, women having few rights, minority populations being subjugated and deprived of basic liberties — all those happened under the “god fearing” majority populations and it is those same groups that are funding churches to rape children while still demanding women lose the most important right, the right of bodily autonomy.

I noticed the reduction of the presence of allah has done nothing to change anything ever. Why? Is he just waiting to smack me around?

The responses to this thread are proof positive of how much trouble our nation is in and how badly we need a 2nd Chronicles 7:14-15 moment as a nation

If you truly believed in the power of God in our society, you would be pushing for BOTH some sort of gun control and violent entertainment addressed... Never hurts to attack a problem from both sides...

Biden at least wants to do one.... Republicans want to do neither...

    And you support who again??

No it shows threads like these belong in the religious section. Franklin Graham is hardly a person of moral character.

when religion infiltrates our government, this is the crazy we get

    http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/conlaw/loving.html

"Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And, but for the interference with his arrangement, there would be no cause for such marriage. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix."

The most relevant damage Democrats have done to our country is the destruction of the nuclear family, father, mother, and children. Each has a role to play to raise fully functioning, moral citizens.

    https://intellectualtakeout.org/2022/06/a-tale-of-two-uvalde-fathers/
    Tale of Two Uvalde Fathers

"The sickening massacre of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas has rightly horrified our nation.
Some politicians and commentators are once again calling for stricter gun controls. Others fault the abject failings of America’s mental health care system. A few—perhaps the wisest among us—contend that the collapse of morality and virtue in the U.S. best explains such atrocities.
Meanwhile, violence remains endemic in many of our major cities, almost a given considering how long our officials have tolerated it. Chicago is a continual battleground, the list over Memorial Day weekend registering over 50 people shot, with nine of them dead. Gunplay in Philadelphia killed 14 people, young and old, and wounded over two dozen more. These figures don’t include those victims attacked or murdered with knives, blunt objects, or other weapons.

Like Salvador Ramos, the Uvalde killer, nearly all of those who bring havoc and death to our streets are men, some of them little more than boys. And along with Salvador Ramos, many of them share one thing in common: they were raised in fatherless households.

Was Ramos Jr. psychologically sick? No doubt. You don’t go to a school and start gunning down innocent children if you are sound of mind.

But how might young Salvador have fared had his parents stayed together, or at least, if his father had remained a strong presence in his life? Suppose his dad had gotten Ramos as a boy into Little League or Scouts, taken him to church on Sundays, or just played catch in the backyard while discussing everything from girls to school?

Young Ramos apparently engaged in all sorts of weird online conversations. Suppose he’d spent that time talking to his dad instead, getting some advice on what it means to be a man, learning about the world and how to go out and make a success of himself? Suppose, in short, his biological father had acted like a real dad?

Jacob Alborado, a Customs and Border Protection agent, was getting a haircut when his wife Trisha, a teacher at Robb Elementary School, texted him: “There’s an active shooter. Help.” She then wrote: “I love you.”

Alborado bounded from the chair, borrowed the barber’s shotgun, sped to the school, and with the help of other agents, rescued his wife and daughter, and dozens of other children and teachers."

Franklin Graham is a Complete Idiot...
And, his OPINIONS are a joke...
There isn't even proof that "God" exists...
Which makes Graham even more of a whack-adoo
    God? God? Who?

I support doing something regarding kids access to violent entertainment and games. I support hardening of schools. Fencing, one entrance, a trained armed security person present be it an LEO or retired military. I support voluntary trained teaches with CCW on campus. I support more effort and funding for mental Heath services and counseling in our schools. I would consider raising the age to buy a semi auto rifle from age 18 to 21 except for the .22 with a 10 round magazine. Even children trained by the NRA or their parents can handle that one. I’d consider some form of red flag law that didn’t obstruct one’s constitutional rights.

Is he? Did he start by specifying which specific deity we should start bending a knee to?

He never implied that one should involuntarily bend a knee toward any deity. He knows God has no interest in forced or coerced conversions.

See... that wasn't so hard... you can give on a few common sense items...

I'm perfectly fine with the idea in bold.... in fact I'd propose a security officer per each 500 students or so (more for larger schools)...

But I do NOT support arming teachers.... in any way, shape or form.

And I still don't see the need for private citizens to own "semi auto" equipment at any age... except to kill feral pigs or racoons, of course...

dude. There’s no spiritual anything there, they don’t have unassailable truths, no “millions” of adherents. That only looks like a desperate insult by someone using words they clearly don’t understand.

Graham is a con artist who isn’t satisfied fleecing people on tv he wants to remake schools dumber.
    Science always wins.

All Graham has to do to set things right is provide empirical evidence of his God.

I have heard an atheist assert that God does not exist. Just that no empirical evidence is ever provided for claims of a Supernatural God. The people making the claims are the ones that should be providing the proof.

    What absolute garbage…!

Here is the list of the top 8 gun death countries worldwide…

Brazil, USA, Venezuela, Mexico, India, Colombia, Philippines, Guatemala.

Please explain how they have “taken god out” of any of those countries….!!?

Now look at the countries at the bottom of the list…

Australia, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Belgium are the bottom 4 in death rates from guns….really devout communities right…??

Mr Graham knows the truth….he just prefers the lie…
