And if it makes one child already struggling with the vicissitudes of life then the world is a little better place

Correct. Stuff like this flushes out people who a) can't be bothered reading detail in a story (like the age of the girl, for example); b) think they can make sweeping judgements about the world based on 3 or 4 dot points of data; and c) are obsessed with a completely different issue but just have to tell everyone else they are obsessed.

I think you misunderstand. In this context 'treatment' is code for "making a complete stranger about who I know functionally nothing behave the way I think she should". Probably best not to confuse that with anything a trained professional would or should be doing.

The fact that any little child could be so confused is proof that some wacko adult put the idea in their head to begin with.

Sure, because it's perfectly normal for little children to decide they're the opposite sex of what they are when they don't even know what the hell that means...

In other words you have no proof.

How many little boys over the years have put on Superman/Spider-Man outfits and subsequently hurt themselves? The girl dressed as a fairy who tells you she has a magic wand - does she need “correction” as well? Sometimes kids retreat into fantasy as a means of dealing with the world

Some children are aware from a very early age that they are not the gender they have been assigned - it depends on the child and how they are cope with this as to what the next step would be. In Samoan culture, in the past boys if the family had too many boys one would be assigned as a girl and given “girls work” it was up to the child though if they continued in that role or changed roles. It is about accepting people as who and what they are

The Faʻafafine on those pacific Islands are. Not al Somoans are Faʻafafine. Dont know but get the impression its just a few percent of the population. Sambians on the other hand include all the male population. All boys starting at about 10 years old are taught that they must suck and drink the mens semen to become big strong warriors and that sex with women is disgusting and dangerous.

Since over 70% of the kids who present themselves to these transgendered clinics expressing feelings of being transgendered, simply lose those feelings without any medical treatment, rushing them into puberty blockers and cross sex hormones should not be the next step. Speaking from the male perspective, I suspect puberty is probably the best treatment for gender identity problems/confusions. Sometimes it seems like thats why the gender change industry is so vehemently pushing blocking puberty.

I don't care what some primitive third world culture does. There are plenty of primitive third world cultures that do things that can only be described as perverted taboo and unusual.

And I've heard the so-called excuse about these children. What they are is confused children that need the guidance of a rational and logical adult not some BS pumped into their head

Obesity is also widespread in the Pacific Islands. Doen't make it legitimate.

There are some choices our kids make which we work with. Most we don't .. for good reason. The same reason we don't allow them to vote, or buy a car, or get married.

Any adult who does nothing to reign in either behaviours which will bring trouble into the child's life later (if they become entrenched), and at the same time consolidates the lie that the world will continue to make such accommodations, is patently determined to set the kid up for failure and harm.

They're making their choice (to accommodate) based on their own comfort, not the child's future welfare. They probably don't want to do the hard work of dealing with the tantrums and resistance likely to ensue if the child is denied. It's a fair assumption they also want to be seen to be 'supportive', rather than actually supporting the child's capacity to lead a reasonable life in a world which doesn't have the time or resources to indulge idiosyncracies.

    That's not true, at all.

It hurts the child in question because it reinforces the sort of behaviours that are going to cause her great problems later in life, and it teaches all her peers that the world is going to cater to their whims.

Quite serious harm is being done, actually.

But it DOESN'T help. Helping such children comes in the form of teaching them to manage these kinds of urges, not to indulge them.

Resilience is necessary to survive in the world. A child who enters adulthood with both unbridled idiosyncracies, AND an expectation that they will be tolerated, has been set up to fail. I keep saying that, but it's the reality. The adults responsible are despicable, IMO. They don't truly give a damn.

Only if some adult or adults around them introduce the idea. In cultures where it's not on the radar, it's rare.

These are LEARNED behaviours/ideas. They don't arise in a vacuum.

Also I wanted to readdress this point.... Some children also think they are dinosaurs.

The next step would be to explain to them that they are not a dinosaur and if they have a penis they're a little boy and if they have a vagina they're a little girl.

You will be able to produce zero evidence except gooblygunk junk pseudoscience, that there is actually any validity to your claim besides a child having a fanciful idea.

Do your schools allow cats into the classrooms and hallways? Do the have to have all their shots and be spayed or neutered?

What is the difference between this child dressing as a cat and a kid you cannot prise out of a super hero costume?
