Normal people? Would you call the average US citizen normal? Have a look in the mirror, and in the recent history books.... The real problem is, that you guys have gone nowhere in the last couple of decades....Sorry, but you asked for it!
Read in the paper today that Abbott will deny his MP's a conscience vote. Typical - he wants to attack Gilard on this. Pathetic little man, he is.
What's the point of the question? What Meaty has done is ask what is called a 'leading' question. It's a ploy where you ask a question specificaly to get a person to say something you want them to say. It's a technique used a lot by salesmen.
No, it's not. I just want to know how your life will be adversely affected. You're reading way too much into it. It's a very simple question.
Same old merry go around I see. I`m convinced that the pro gay marriage lobby aren`t capable of taking the beliefs or opinions of others into consideration. This is pure fanatical bigotry of the lowest order. This akin to the gatecrasher who trashes other people`s party, simply because they have no regard for other people, and display their selfish attitude by their intrusive actions. There are those who value the institution of heterosexual marriage, and family values. Those who don`t have these standards themselves are often willing to throw other people`s rights away, but expect to receive tolerance and consideration themselves. Marriage is heterosexual, the people who raise children in a balanced family environment are the backbone of our society. Respect has to be a two way street, if not, it`s a dead end road.
Don`t you just hate those people with standards, particularly if those standards aren`t convenient for you you you.
I don't mind standards, on the contrary, but I do mind medieval time standards, and Abbotts must be the world champion here....
It is sad that he doesn't have enough faith in his belief or party to put it to a fair and honest vote
Incorrect. Perhaps you should buy a dictionary and look up the meaning of "question". Incorrect. I'm concerned with the rights of others. Read the question again. It'll sink in eventually. The question isn't directed towards me. Try to keep up.
Actually DV, that's the way Labor works. A National or Liberal MP can cross the floor without any serious consquences from their party. If a Labor MP crosses the floor they are immediadelty, summarily sacked from the party.
And that's why Labor has agreed to a conscience vote and the Libs haven't. http://www.smh.com.au/national/conscience-vote-on-gay-marriage-wins-favour-20111211-1opsc.html
Lol Do you know how pathetic that arguement is? I haven't heard a single arguement for why gays shouldnt be allowed to marry
Hey dude Well said i totally agree. As for gay couples they shouldn't be allowed to adopt children imo, that isn't a well balanced environment for a family. Funny isn't it Hillary Clinton is pushing for gay marriages and so is Gillard, someimes i wonder whether Gillard is our PM or a premier for another state of the US.
Abbott doesn't care if his MP's have a different opinion. He is trying to contro him, he knows a conscience vote will mean the gay marriage bill will pass.
Have whatever private party you want in your own house, church, or country club. Invite only the folks you want. But if you're paying for that party with tax dollars, using the laws that effect all of us... then no. It's not a private party it's a public one. You don't get to keep out citizens just cause you don't like their kind, especially to a party they paid for. Then make it a two way street: give equal tolerance, equal consideration, and equal rights.
You`ll never get the point. Marriage is a heterosexual institution. Marriage is between a man and a woman. If you are a homosexual, marriage laws can`t affect you. If your issue is a financial one, this is seperate issue to marriage. I`m fully prepared to look at any issues of financial discrepancies among all people. The simple fact is, homosexuals can`t really be married, they might pretend to be, but they can`t really marry.
How are you with Prime Ministers who lie to the electorate, back stab their leader while swearing allegiance, and are controlled by their "non political" masters?
I think they can, if they are happy together, so they should be able to marry. Sometimes we have to adjust to modern times, and I haven't got a problem there. Would be interesting to know whether their relation last any longer before being divorced, compared to the traditionnel man/wife story.....
Right, because Labor don't want to have to sack a pile of their MP's who would cross the floor on the issue. Big Tony can demand all he likes but he is really just posturing because Lib/Nat MP's know they can cross the floor with relative impunity.
