German Girl 'Kept as Sex Slave' By Bosnian serb Couple

A 19-year-old from Germany was allegedly kept as a slave for eight years by the Marinkovic family from near Kalesija, who sexually abused her and forced her to perform hard labour.

Bosnian police are investigating the case in which a teenage German girl was allededly kept as a sex slave for eight years by Milenka and Slavoje Marinkovic, a couple from the village of Karavlasi, near Kalesija.

The Tuzla Cantonal police arrested the couple on May 17 and the girl was taken to a safe house in Tuzla. The story became public when the Tuzla Prosecutor revealed details on Saturday.



The Prosecutor questioned the girl in the safe house on Friday. Her mother, Christine Siegner, who claims to have known nothing about her daughter's fate, was also questioned, the Tuzla Cantonal Prosecutor told Balkan Insight.



“She [the mother] was questioned as a witness and she said that she had left the girl there and used to visit her but she did not know she was being abused,” Admir Arnautovic, the Tuzla Prosecutor's spokesperson, told Balkan Insight.



On Saturday the Prosecution said it had a reasonable suspicion that the couple unlawfully arrested and imprisoned a German citizen whom they treated inhumanely, starved and forced to do heavy farm work.



"The girl, a minor, was unlawfully imprisoned until May 17, 2012, and physically abused, sustaining injuries," the Prosecution said.



Sead Makalic, the neighbour who told the police that the Marinkovic family were keeping the girl against her will, told the Dnevni Avaz daily that his neighbours forced the girl to have sex with dogs, had allowed men to rape her and held her as a slave for eight years.



According to the media, the girl came to Bosnia with her mother in 2004 to live in Karavlasi but her mother, for reasons unknown, then left the girl with the Marinkovics when she was 12 years old.



"They literally forced her to be a slave. They were bringing many men to sexually abuse her," Makalic said. "They cut her face with a heated knife, which can be seen on the girl. They never let her sleep in the house, so she slept with pigs and dogs."

"They even forced her to have sexual intercourse with dogs and then laughed at the girl for doing that," Makalic said, adding that he had called the police many times over the years but that the Marinkovics had succeeded in hiding the girl on each occasion.



Christine Siegner is reported to be Slavoje Marinkovic's second wife.



After reporting the case to the police, Makalic said he had received threats from other members of the Marinkovic family, who said they would kidnap his son, which he also reported to the police.

It is horrific to the level of madness ,the acts that were perpetrated by the side of these serb animals against a girl which shares the same ethnicity as yours, old man. Never heard any Bosnian Muslim that bears a name Slav-oje. By falsifying the origin of these animals who sexually ,physically and psychically abused with this girl you reveal your not so human side of yours. If Roma is their constitutional name I don't see the point of calling them gypsies besides the intent to degenerate them,their customs and their rights.

This makes me sad. If only more Bosnian Muslims used names that have meaning to them. How many Bosnians Muslims know the meaning of 'Miroslav', compared to 'Mustafa'? Slavic names have meaning in Bosnia, not Arabic/Turkic/Persian ones.
