I certainly do not assume you are naive or gullible . We just held a different view on this one matter and I very much respect your gracious response .
Tomorrow you will no doubt change my view on some different matter and in the spirit of a healthy Forum .
One of the things we ought to do is try and educate that young Belgian whose views are so seriously misguided !!

I think your subtext is that Raymondo speaks clearly , openly and directly .
He does not mince his words but is always prepared to give reasons for his views .He is also a fount of information and has a huge breadth of sources , most of which are not enjoyed here by fellow contributors .
Regrettably he often shows that he does not suffer fools .
So , young Janpoor , my repeated advice is " listen" and " learn" which is annoying , patronising and even arrogant . But true .

A tremendous question and I have long pondered it and never found a reasonable answer .
I guess that the US felt it needed to stay up to the end of the Yeltsin period for obvious reasons , and had there next been a Gorbachev type instead of an ex KGB successor , they might have reduced their "invasion " strength .
However , any profiler will tell you the dangers of our dear friend Vlad the Bad .
His major spats with Ukraine post 2004 , Estonia 2007 and then the invasion of Georgia show how unstable and aggressive he is .( Not that the US is not also , of course !!! )
He openly espouses the great days of the USSR and sees the fall of Communism as the greatest tragedy of the last century . He also is a little man ( serious point) with a family life obsessed by Judo and the KGB Brotherhood -- now the FSB .
He is a potentially a very dangerous guy even though his army and navy are seriously out of date , on his own admission , and the quality of his Army is bad with a hopeless bunch of slave conscripts and the corrupt Officer class is appalling --- a view totally endorsed by Chief of Staff , General Makarov .

If you follow the course of your thoughts, Putin and the KGB judo obsession, so he wants to attack Germany with which Russia has 40% of turnover.
    With her head all right?

Please: if you are an European then you should know very well that your cliches are american cliches now. You don't think in european categories. The European Union is not comparable with the nations USA, China, Russia or India on a very simple reason: Europe is everything else than a nation - and it likes not to be a nation at all. And no single nation is able to dominate Europe. The word "union" seems to confuse lots of people - we are in Europe not on the way to become a kind of "United States of Europe" comparable with the USA. That's impossible!!! Perhaps we could say in the moment the European Union it's more a kind of meeting of the self-help group "anonyme household wasters" - who should learn how to fight against the insane idea that national states are able to waste more money than they have.

By the way: As far as I know was the first public print of the declaration of independence in german language in Philadelphia. See also: http://www.dhm.de/magazine/unabhaengig/boette_e.htm

About 25% of all US-Americans have german ancestors and perhaps from all nations in the world the USA is most similiar to Germany than any other nation.

I just can't fathom your thinking --- why does his fundamental make up( guessed) indicate that he would attack Germany ?
Much more likely candidates are Ukraine ( not by conventional war) , any of the Baltic States , though presumably Estonia is top of his list , Belarus and possibly his bete noire , Georgia where he grew up ---- despite his official biography denying this .
The question about Germany that is far more interesting is , who did he get to work as double agents when he was based in Dresden?
I think most of the ex Top Government Germans , members of Deutsche Bank and various present Board members of Russian Banks plus Gazprom are well known . But did he ever know Angela in the late eighties ? Some think he knew her very well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But there are no clear facts to support this , I openly admit .

How do the American troops in Germany, and Russia's efforts to involve Ukraine in general economic activity - the Customs Union, which Belarus already a member.
Ukraine words of the Prime Minister has already said about the possible entry into a customs union.
But Estonia and other countries may remain useless ballast Germany.

One of them is French. What difference does it make anyway? It's not like any of them are acting in any country's national interests.
