Where have you been in the past 10 years? Moon? Mars?

The AKP now set the agenda, they outmanouvered the Kemalist military.

That's what many foreign journalists keep saying. And I am laughing. Erdogan didn't transform the Army into something Islamic. The Army is still Kemalist. That's not that easy. The new generals are still Kemalists.

I did not state he turned the army into an islamist organization, I state here that he is an islamist and he is in charge and he tries to reislamize the country.

What he successfully did is to weaken the political influence of the army.

That's actually what the EU wants. And the Army itself stepped back from the political arena as a part of Turkey-EU enlargement process. Many analysts read this as a success of Islamism in Turkey, which is totally invalid.

A success for the islamists was already the election of Erdogan considering what this man published in ealier times. A success for him was that he was able to turn Turkey from Israel's ally into the arch enemy while calculating and playing with the emotion of nationalist Kemalists.

Islamism is on its way forward in Turkey, Christian priests are murdered and Heroclitus tell us about a strong secularism, which is under the attack of the AKP. It's not the doctrine of the AKP.
