Tunisians walk in a market of Tunis. A global survey finds a surprising number of the general population in Muslim states want better relations with Israel. (AP/Salah Ben Mohamed) A global survey found that Muslim states want closer ties with Israel. Among all countries surveyed, over half showed little interest in the Palestinian conflict. A global survey commissioned by Israel’s Foreign Ministry to discern attitudes throughout the world about the Jewish State have revealed surprising results where Muslim countries are concerned – that in many cases the populations want closer ties with Israel, even in Iran. Daily paper Israel Hayom, which reported the results last Wednesday, said that 75 percent of those queried thought that relations with Israel would be good for their countries. The Israeli Foreign Ministry highlighted in particular the results from Muslim countries, which found that large segments of the general population wanted better relations with Israel. Percentage of population interested in ties with Israel: Iraqis – 43%. Emiratis – 42% Moroccans – 41% Iranians -34% Tunisians – 32% Saudis – 23% Algerians – 21% The surveys were taken without the knowledge of the participants that the polls had been commissioned by Israel, Israel Hayom reports. An additional question in the survey asked whether the Palestinian Authority was the main obstacle on the road to peace in the Middle East. The poll found that over half of those polled on average didn't have a position on the issue. https://worldisraelnews.com/global-...ith+Israel_2C+Losing+Interest+in+Palestinians Very interesting, and truly significant. Few if any good news from or about Israel rarely finds the time of day, and if this forum is an indication of, Israel is anathema and is universally hated by everybody in the world. Not so, not so my friends. Israel prospers and is improving its standing in the world each day. Palestinians, on the other hand, do not want to recognize the momentum and continue to terrorize these Israelis they can get close to, and fly Molotov cocktails for peace. Time to change this attitude, elect new Palestinian leadership and talk to Israel with some sincerity. Well done, Israel
Hatred is a trend... fuelled by lynch mobs, rebellion funded by well meaning billionaires trying to change the world, but who only serve to leave death and destruction in his wake. The tide is turning for when the euphoria turns sour, people will distance themselves. The survey result does not surprise me.
I don't believe the Arab nations ever liked the Palestinians, it's why they had to become nomads because no nation would allow them in their country.
That is my understanding of the situation. As Dutch said, the Arabs use them when it benefits them but they don't actually want to be involved with them. In my opinion the Jews should just take over all that region and accept the Palestinians in as equal residents of Israel. Most will assimilate in and be better off for it, the others can be dealt with as long as Israel doesn't have the world breathing down their neck. This two state thing is just stupid and prolonging the problems. The Palestinians never had that land, it was gifted to them for their promise to help in a world war, which they never fulfilled.
Part of the formula is that information is coming out on who Yasser Arafat really was and why he led his own people toward their destruction. https://www.tldm.org/news9/russianinfluenceonmideast.htm
This was a good post right up until the above strawman. But despite the OP's sloppiness the article was good and holds hope for future peace.
