I must protest. We French have lots of energy. Take me for instance (not literally). I'm spending my day off cleaning the house, scrubbing the dirt out of windows, hoovering carpets, and doing laundry. All the while not forgetting to dress sexy and smile.

    :salute:

Is she having a go at Paris (the city) or France in general? Okay it's been a while since I visited but France wasn't Paris and Paris wasn't France last time I checked.

I have been to France following our soccer club around at Champions League games , from the little i have seen of it i think it must be one of the most boring countries in Europe ( together with Germany ) . The weather is moody and people are too laconic , also they are keeping their voice down so much you have hard time listening what they say. The French are usually passing unnoticed when mixed with other nationalities .

Well you'll need to reach the quarter finals more often if you want to experience nice weather. Cheers!

Try doing this with €5m for TV rights and €1.5m for shirt advertisement plus €10 tickets , it is impossible....

For some reason every time we meet a French team people get knifed , since the thread is about France they are like the only fans using sharp objects in brawls and they are always too angry . I have met fanatics of Red Star and Spartak Moscow who are really dangerous , you know body builders full of tattoos, scars and often weapons but nothing compares with the skimpy little French who will come to stab you in the back.
No i am not talking about "Arabic" people from Marseille but more like French-French from Montpelier , why so angry ?

They also don't have the energy to do a full week's work.

It's no wonder their economy is permanently a basketcase.

France has a poor record in the Champions League, too. Only once has a French team ever won it - Marseille in 1993 (although Marseille were lucky to beat Glasgow Rangers in the Semi-Final. I remember watching it). And that was, believe it or not, the first European trophy ever won by a French team (and even then, Marseille were nearly stripped of their Champions League win for match fixing just a week before the Final).

Hilarious. Not sure if you're trolling or live in an alternate universe but you're funny, I'll give you that. "They are like the only fans using sharp objects in brawls". Hahahahahaha. Lay off the ambrosia and coca, fitnah.

Because England's economy is permanently skyrocketting, right? Lol. Not a single English club in the QFs last year. That's a pretty poor result when compared to the millions you spend buying foreign talents. Rofl.

Britain's economy is now starting to outperform the economies of France and Germany - AGAIN.

Britain's economy is in a much healthier state than France's. France's economy is permanently sclerotic and Hollande's socialists are making things even worse.

For the first time since 1996. To say that English football has gone into some sort of decline just because no English teams reached the Quarter Finals of the Champions League for the first time in 17 years is just crazy. English teams have dominated the competition in recent years. Remember, an English team won the Champions League in 2012.

Nope. Britain's business cycle is just different to the rest of Europe. There has been little convergence between the individual countries

Want to talk health? Compare working poverty rates. Britain is great if you're a banker or able to give dosh to the Tory party. For the rest? Its a crap hole where "emigrating to Spain to watch Only Fools and Horses in the sun" is the pish dream

Typically teams only based in England. Foreign owned after all.

Well, I don't think it's a crap hole. I've got no problem living here. The economy's on the up (whilst France and Germany's are on the downward slide), we won Wimbledon, we won the Europa League, we're 1-0 up in the Ashes, William and Catherine are due to give birth to the future monarch any day now, the sun is shining whilst we bask in a heatwave and Labour are in Opposition rather than in power. What more could you ask for?

    Tell that to Joe Pleb!

A Scot won Wimbledon who, due to PR needs, has now forgotten his ABE comments

A meaningless trophy won by a Russian owned club. Its not the old days of the UEFA Cup when it meant something.

We did have to go against the spirit of the game mind you (and also pack the side with foreigners as they're typically better the chinless types that play cricket in England)

Sounds a little hero worship in tone.

Indicative of the increasing uncertainty in our weather conditions, demonstrating the consequences of global warming.

When did you decide that being run by Etonian types was a good thing?
