You just don't get it, do you? It has nothing to do with that I want. I am simply against the government overreach. Why do you want the government micromanage everything? Why not let school districts decide on case by case bases? Some rural schools probably won't need them, while some hot-spot metro areas might feel that it is necessary. Why does the government have to decide for them?

Lot of parents won't allow their kids go to schools which are banned from protecting their kids.

I am against authoritarianism, and you are for it. That is the difference. What DeSantis is doing it totally unnecessary, and political. There is no outcry from parents demanding maskless schools, so why is he doing it. Very few parents demand it and even they do it for political reasons.

What else do you want the government dictate? Ban dress codes?

I’ve had a distaste for illegals long before Trump ever thought about being president. I live in FL and can see the results first hand. Being against illegals should be normalized. It is destroying our country. There is no metric you can use that can prove they are beneficial. No country is as lax on illegals as us. Every person they rape. Every murder they cause. Every drug they transport or sell. Every human they traffic. None of it should occur if we prevented them from coming. All preventable. You are doing a good job proving you don't get it. That tends to be a problem with lost of people who need government micromanage everything. In the bigger picture you would naturally also prefer federal government micromanage things as opposed to allowing States and locals have a say in it.

Not only is DeSantis imposing these bans, he is also threatening to cut funds to schools which do not submit to his demands.

Maybe you would send your kids to a school knowing they are banned from taking protective action, but many parents have a problem with that and have voiced their concern and some districts have chosen to ignore his ban. Will they lose funding? Its possible, now that DeSantis has assumed the power of the purse to himself. Will it survive legal challenge? I doubt it.

 

I said let schools decide. With DeSantis, the government decides.

Parents have no held votes on the issue? If they did, I'll bet many metro area parents would vote to have masks until the worst is over.

If the parents were given the choice, it should not be to choose their kid be the spreader, but to have the option to have your kid do it remotely in order to keep them away from the maskless spreaders. With these government rules, everyone is mandated to go and be exposed.

Kids don’t belong to the government, teachers, or teachers unions. DeSantis gives parents the choice and you have a problem with that.

 

Actually what I just said would be a great idea.

Let the parents choose by voting school by school. If majority want the kids to wear masks, then it should be enforced, and if majority do not want them then they can go without masks, and some kids could study remotely if their parents are concerned about their well being.

So that would take the government overreach out of the equation, and it would allow democracy to decide (the American way), and concerned parents would have an option to protect their kids.

Who could possibly oppose that (other than DeSantis).

It was not about dehumanizing, its about public safety. Trump stopped the flow of illegals into the country by contracting with Mexico to hold all applicants until approved for entry. Biden reversed that and now we have the highest illegal immigrant crossings in 20 years.
