In my OP, I didn't say there was growing sympathy among Liberals, specifically. Thus it is not my fault that you assume it must be Liberals to whom I refer. Projection.
However, thinking about it, I believe your assumption is correct. I doubt there is a single ConservaRepub out there with an ounce of sympathy for this guy.
BTW, I do NOT think he should be treated as an enemy combatant and as shocking as this may seem, I have seen the Left insult the Right too.

I used to live in Odessa, The Ukraine. Chechyns would come there and were given nicknames like "Russian Turks" and so on. They have been terrorizing Russia for 20 years. This is the first time I've heard of them having a beef with the USA and can't find anyone back in Russia or The Ukraine who can figure out the motive for this one.

Indeed. And some you hold in such high esteem, you give them jobs as college professors, shaping the minds of our young people. Your concession is noted. :321:

Could you give examples of the sympothy you are talking about. I don't see sympothy for this guy from anyone. That is unless you think arguing he should have a fair trial and conviction, rather than have him tortured and locked away without trial is "sympothy". But then you would be mistaking the belief in constitutional rights and the rule of law as sympothy.

No, there are PLENTY of people, mostly on the Left that I see, that say they need to see the evidence of his guilt first. Freaking morons, this is why people like Casey Anthony get off on obvious murder charges because the people that make up the jury are just dumb asses.

You seem very angry. Clearly I struck a nerve, as it is common knowledge liberals often jump to sympathize with USA haters. Your personal attack has been reported.

So those "evil liberals" "sympathize with terrorists" because we "want to see evidence of his guilt" BEFORE executing him?

Yeah, I figured that is what the Righties meant in this thread - "Liberals love terrorists" because we want America to behave like America, rather than behave like the rabid dog that Righties want America to become!

What a MASSIVE FAIL these so-called "conservatives" are as Americans! They all need to move to Russia or Iran with their fascist brothers.

Sorry that you were so sensitive Ace. I did not mean to hurt your feelings. :nana:

Here let me correct my post..... Conservatives who claim liberals support terrorists or sympathize with USA haters are delusional and blinded by ignorance and hate.

So in the minds of a liberal a 19 y/o or 18 or 17 or 16 probably even 15 year old person can make decisions about wether they want an abortion, wether they should smoke weed, of course we have to listen to the children because they are so much smarter than everyone else, but a 19 y/o jihadist, obviously he was coerced. I mean no teenager would ever do anything like this without some one older coercing them.

No, you said what you meant the first time. My reply to you stands, as does your first thoughts. First thoughts are almost always the most honest.

    Gotcha. :)

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes, and you're so concerned with Meals on Wheels for seniors, you're willing to raise some other guy's taxes as much as it takes to get it handled, right? :roflol:

There were a couple people on tv and a few on my other board that were syaing that maybe this poor kid had been brainwashed by his older brother - which is absolute BS and frankly, would have been impossible, given the circumstances. That is what I was referring to.

People on this board (both LibDem and ConservaRepubLitarian) sure do like to project false opinions on anyone who doesn't agree with you 100%, don't you? FYI, I personally think he should get a civilian trial and found the idea of a military tribunal preposterous. Oh gee, there I go, believing in the rights guaranteed in the Constitution just exactly the same way that you do.
Sympathy is spelled with an A by the way :)

I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who play spelling police in online forums. And I still have not seen sympathy for this bomber from anyone. I guess you did, but you did not cite those sources in your original post. So all your projection crap is not right at all. No, it is simply that the original post was simply a poor post which complained about sympathy, but failed to say what who or what you were complaining about. So because your post was so unclear, it left it up to the reader to make assumptions of who and what you were complaining about. Please forgive the incorrect, but logical, assumption because I was not watching the same TV shows or reading your other forums.

"simply that the original post was simply"
You weren't an English major eh? ;)

So then what you're saying is that you want to be BFF's?
I'll consider it and get back to you.

The singular and plural forms are mixed. You should have written: "People on this board (both LibDem and ConservaRepubLitarian) sure do like to project false opinions on anyone who doesn't agree with them 100%, don't they? Also, the word "major" really should have a comma after it. It looks like you weren't an English major either, sunshine.

LOL! Very good Stuart! I'm just having a little fun with one of our 'angry people". I mean, look at this place. People don't just have discussions. They rant. Disagree with the Official Rachel Maddow opinion? You're a neo-con wingnut. Disagree with the Official FOX Position? The labels start flying.
So Touche' Stuart. Well done :)

But it's what we do here. Nevertheless, being a Grammar Nazi usually isn't the best way to get your point across.

For the record, I only point out typos and grammatical errors on forums under two conditions: One is when someone ELSE becomes a Grammar Nazi - in which case, said person had better be perfect themselves, and the second is if the typo is unintentionally funny.

The view of the founding fathers as social conservatives and modern constitutional "interpretation" (translation: defiance and blatant warping of the meaning) is folklore, but the founding fathers were actually pretty cool lads most of the time. They were, above all else, classical liberals in the sense that their political worldviews universally centered on liberty rather than safety, and where they did center on safety it was near always left to the states, who were seen as (and are) sovereign in all areas not expressly delegated to the Federal government in the constitution.

It's not the founding fathers fault, its the view too many have of them as either champions of liberalism or conservatism - they were neither. They were for liberty, regardless which side of the aisle it comes down on.

As for the thread, I have sympathy for these kids in the same way I have sympathy for the heroin user. You've completely (*)(*)(*)(*)ed your lives, and for what? It's sad when someone dies, it's even sadder when someone is murdered: because its the end of life for the attacker as well as the victim.

As far as what should happen to him... I don't see him as a threat to other inmates, especially in a maximum security prison. The death penalty should be reserved for those who pose a continuing threat. It's hard to imagine this kid harming anyone in prison. I'd be more concerned for the health of his ass than the other prisoners haha, he's gonna get raped so much. If they hate pedophiles imagine what they do to mass murderers and terrorists.

Having no sympathy for either side, only the victims, I tend to view these developments as a bomber vs bomber saga. i.e. the F-18 bomber flyovers at Afgani weddings vs. jihad Amerrricans!
