Do you really want to know how long we've been posting together and have been friends IRL? We started out in 2008 on SOSD forums, went to DP, and now, here we are, my friend, and still having fun :)

Thanks for the compliment. Actually, I owe my knowledge for gun control :machinegun: to people far better informed on the subject. My husband included, you, and of course, my friend TurtleDude.

You know how we know this? Because every thread on gun control in history ends up the same way. By the end of the thread all they have left is to go after the law-abiding gun owner.

IMHO, and note it is my observation, after reading through the lines of threads like these that they really hate the second amendment and would like nothing more than to see the whole thing 86'd. They offer no viable solutions other than getting those guns away from us, because for some reason, they assume we're guilty of being future criminals. Sad but true.

DP kicked me off in November 2010. I don't remember why.

Lol, there doesn't have to be a "legitimate" reason. If they want you gone, you're gone. Fair and square has nothing to do with it. I am still a standing member but choose not to be an active member by choice.

Nice to meet you, btw, TOG6. I wasn't around DP in 2008.

You're the one peddling your blatant disinformation to the board that the United States has the highest number of gun deaths in the world when that statement is clearly false and it has been demonstrated to you several times.

So even though it is clearly a waste of time debating with you, I'm going to prove you wrong again for the benefit of anyone reading. It's not for your benefit at all because I know you're not capable of a retraction or even just admitting that you're wrong.....

I'm not going to let you get away with peddling such blatant disinformation.

And let's face it.... A 1911 in your hand feels much more reassuring than a cell phone dialing 911.

When seconds count the police are only minutes away. So why does anyone carry a gun? It fits in your pocket much easier than a police officer.

Your safety and well-being is your own responsibility.

Not to mention that the courts have came right out and stated that the police are not responsible to protect you.

The police can best be thought of in most cases as criminal archaeologist.... They will show up in the aftermath to gather evidence and document the scene and call the coroner. And if everything goes right they will catch the suspect after the fact

2008!! Wow! Fifteen years. Those were the good ol' days when Libs and conservatives could actually be civil and enjoy a frosty brew or two with each other. I miss those get togethers; we had some great times.

I proved the mods were rigging votes over there for a dishonorable award. One of the mods-who now posts here was banned for proving my contention. They then changed the rules constantly to ban me. I consulted with attorneys who said a valid suit was available but the prospective damages was not worth the cost. The people who run that board are both dishonest and cowardly. But I remember you over there

I see he is still peddling his blatant disinformation that we have the highest rates in the world of gun deaths despite the record having been set straight to him several times.

That just proves to me that he has a disingenuous agenda and is not interested in the actual truth

We can rationalize just fine, problem is sometimes you just can't talk your way out of situation.

A lot of the "gun deaths" are the result of would-be victims successfully defending themselves using a firearm. You should be proud.

I have already stated that there are countries that have drug production and cartels where gun killing is higher by percentage than the U.S. Nonetheless, in developed countries with high populations and gun laws, we are among the top in gun killings.

Here is proof that gun control works. This proof is close by as it is here in the U.S. itself

    Gun Safety Policies Save Lives

Here is a graph of what is stated in the link. In the link itself, each state is listed individually. Guess what? The red states are the ones with weak gun laws and they are the ones with the highest amount of gun killings! Gun laws work!!!!

that's not even true anymore. there are no studies that actually prove gun control works-though I do agree that gun control does work as its proponents intended-to harass honest gun owners and to cover up the fact that gun control proponents don't want to really punish criminals. There are states in New England that have high rates of gun ownership, less stupid gun laws and very low rates of violence. and when red states have high rates of gun violence-it almost always is in cities with democrat judges and leaders

why is it that every gun control fan boy tends to be a big government fan boy too?
