More guns less crime. It works every time it's tried.

Gun crimes are going down because violent crimes in general are going down and have been for decades. They were going down when we had stricter gun laws too.

If the leftie mantra "more guns equal more gun crime" were true, an marked increase in gun sales would inspire more gun crimes.

Bingo. You could have also used the Wild West period as an example. They had lots of guns and we all know how "crime free" those times were.

The greatest factor to limiting crime is not arming the people. It's educating them.

It's false also. The amount of guns does not affect the overall crime rates. If violent crimes in general are going down, then gun crimes will go down as well.

It's more of a function of education and wealth.

Lefties have been very insistent in their claims that the "wealth gap" is getting wider, the poor are getting poorer, and we aren't spending enough on education...

    What gives?

The poor are not getting poorer, really, except in relation to the inflation rate.

The rich are just astronomically richer and they are leaving everyone else behind.

Crime statistics usually take a while to catch up with society though. I'd be willing to bet that we'll see a spike in crimes committed by the poor in the near future, more so if the unemployment continues and people start getting cut off from the tiny bit of security they have through welfare programs.

If you win your bet....which I think you will... would you be willing to double down against my bet that lefties will blame any increase in gun crimes on the marked increase in gun ownership over the past few years?

    :)

So, this refudiates the claim by the loony left that more guns will lead to more gun crimes.

As an active gun entusiast I dont support gun control, but I also dont see any logic in the argument that more guns equals less crime. I think there are alot of other factors in play that are affecting gun crime rates.

I'd also like to see more details on the increase in gun sales. I have a feeling that sales to people who already own guns has dramatically increased in the last few years. Lets face it, half the country seems to think Obama is the Antichrist and we are on the verge of some kind of Mad Max like post apocalyptic world. *Cough* Albert Di Salvo *Cough*.

I would bet with you in this case. If the left did that they would be wrong.

And places like Somalis and the Old West contradict (because "refudiate" isn't a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing word) the mindless right claim that more guns will lead to less crimes.

Between 99 and 05 there was no increase in gun sales, yet violent crime dropped .

If it is in the dictionary, then it is a word. "Bling" is as much of a word as "woo" or "darg". So I'm sorry, Questerr, but you've just been refudiated.

Since Obama has only increased gun rights and has done nothing to curb them this must mean he is the anti crime president! :D

Dont you know? Apperently obama being "pro-guns" is all a big conspiracy, he will first flood the USA with guns and in his second term make them illegal.

Just listen to the NRA ceo. According to him its one big ruse .

You do start to wonder just how paranoid those people are and is it a good idea to have a that paranoid ceo heading the NRA.
