Maybe get them new jobs? Replace their house? Only religion can convince people that selling their homes for the rapture is a rasonable thing to do.
His followers will just abandon him for another doomsayer. Thank god in these times more people are educated. Can you imagine what it was like hundreds of years ago when EVERYONE was as superstitious as his followers?
Just another group of lost sheeple seeking acceptance. Not much different than anybody who votes the party line.
Wow. Well good for him for apologizing but yeah, hopefully he returned people's life savings and homes. =/
Not likely Catholics since they would have to share when the money rolls in, but it will definitely be something that loosens the purse strings usually of the naive or the elderly.
Of course, Camping has done far more damage to the lives and beliefs of those that have followed his teachings. It goes far beyond his false revelations about the return of Jesus. He is one of many false teachers that we are told about in the Word. Seems people are so desperate in their seeking for the meaning for life and hope for something beyond they will grab onto whatever seems to good to be true if it destroys them within. Most would conclude Christianity is of the same ilk. Then so be it. That is their choice. I know where my hope lies. Camping is a fallen man, but not a man of God so it seems.
Instead of telling Camping about the problems caused by following his wacky ideas, his followers should speak to the problem of following whacky ideas. So the next time they deal with a problem of following, speak to it and rebuke it in the name of sanity.
Seriously there are a bunch of screwed up people out there. Look how many people vote for democrats thinking they represent the working class and the poor and how many vote republican foolishly thinking they are conservatives. And you think irrational easily manipulated people can figure out which religion is the right one, after thousands of years of , well you know, organized religion?
Religion has definitely compromised the Hope and promise of God. But this is to be expected of fallen man.

Anyone who actually studies the bible, knows that it does not contain any such codes or foretellings. The bible says in several places that only God knows the date of Judgement Day, not even Jesus himself is aware of the date God has chosen. Anyone who took him seriously, most likely never read the bible enough to know this fact, and didn't want to actually take the time to do their own studying, so they just believed what others told them to. This is the problem with all cults and false prophets.....Their followers are too stupid and lazy to do any serious studying of the bible.
Once again the same could be said for anybody who follows, democrats and/or republicans, blindly. People tend to go along with people who tell them what they want to hear rather than actually think for themselves.
When did I say that it wasn't like that? I say anyone who follows any type of idealology blinded deserves whatever they get....Because they are too stupid and lazy to do their own research.

The man is a charlatan and an unscrupulous opportunist. It's about fleecing his flock, not guiding them in the right direction. If there is a God he had better hope he doesn't have to stand before him and explain his actions.
