What can I say? Chest beating, sabre rattling old school politics.....

When the USA politicians see votes in a pseudo transitional socialist democracy that also PRESERVES the right to get rich you will get what all other western democracies have. Until then it's the same old same old.((

My sister had open heart surgery nearly two years ago and spent more than a month in hospital. The only thing she had to pay for was the use of the television while she was there. Other than that she paid nothing. Her surgery was done in one of the best public hospitals in the country (the Austin) and she was treated like a queen.

Why go private when you can get luxury at a public hospital?

Exactly my point! The Americans "think" socialized healthcare involves GOVERNMENT appointed "substandard" doctors and death panels!!!!! Where? How? WTF? Makedde. Perhaps we should ask the PM to invite some members of Congress over for a look see eh? Get some video of our inferior Public hospitals replete with stretchers for beds and Zulu's for practitioners. No offence to Zulus! Lovely people.))

I once read a letter to the paper by one old gent who had suffered a heart attack and went to his private hospital. They transferred him to a public hospital because they were better equipped to care for him.

What does that tell everyone? Public hospitals save lives. Yes, there are waiting lists - but ONLY for elective surgeries. I had one surgery canceled years ago and I didn't complain. You have to expect that.

As a US citizen am I covered by Austrailian medical facilities. Do I have to pay for service where a Austrailian citizen does not if I do not have medical insurance?

That's IF your allowed to immigrate to Australia. What these Aussies aren't telling you is that they have one of the strictest immigration policies in the world. So they basically chose who is worthy of immigrating to Australia or not. In short, freeloaders or anyone who is a drain on the taxpayers are not allowed to immigrate.

Makes it quite convenient. This is how their able to sustain that type of socialist healthcare.

The US doesn't have that luxury with it's porous borders and a government that doesn't enforce it's immigration laws.

The US can't have a socialist type healthcare system if the NON-PAYERS outnumber the people who actually contribute.

The United States politics has always had big business bent and a leaning from days gone by to appease this crowd to no end.
After all , the manufacturing segment helped win two wars for us.
They now have way too much influence in our politics.

Universal healthcare isn’t profitable enough for businesses so just like the tobacco industry, it takes years to turn the tide. The GOP carries the mantle for big business.

They are deniers of climate change, reasonable gun control, and universal healthcare. It’s all the same crowd that has always regretted the abolition of slavery and giving women the right to vote .

Trump is a symptom of this crowd that will do anything to retain control. Healthcare is one area they will die fighting. This next election is very important to establish a progressive agenda and perhaps make healthcare a reality. But who knows.....God bless you fellow citizens of earth down under.....

Btw, sounds like Angrytaxoayer is part of that crowd .
