Why is the word 'fact' not used in the KJV Bible yet the words 'belief' and 'believe' are used in that version of the Bible?

I would really like to see your input on that one question.

Because the word did not exist in its current form when the KJV was written

    Potentially wrong:
"“I'm trying to think, don't confuse me with facts.”
    ― Plato"

Well the modern translation services provide this "ουσ. γεγονός, δεδομένο " (please don't ask me to pronounce any of it as I don't speak Greek). But what you are suggesting is that there was no translation for the word 'fact' in the Greek language at the time of Plato... Well, there must have been for the translators to come up with the quote from Plato above.

Come on guys and gals... I was sincerely hoping that you would have some input into this interesting 'fact'. Please don't lead me to believe that this is a question about the Bible and 'fact' that the non-theist, highly educated people on this forum cannot provide an adequate answer.

since many of us don't read your funny book, you'd be in a better position to tell us. though GOD knows why it's of interest, unless you're so desparate for a point score you're dredging the sludge at the bottom of the pond for any stray word game obfuscation you may have missed earlier.

In your perception it may have been "adequate" however the information you supplied was in error. The first English usage of the word 'fact' was done so around 1530- 1540.. Study the etymology of the word. The KJV was first published around 1611. Faulty information such as you provided can never be classed as "adequate".

Why would the word "fact" be used in the bible?

Why did you leave out what it meant in 1530?

Sorry about that... this thread was intended for all of your non-theists to have some fun with.. but if you insist on my interjection of definitions, I will give you a link that will be of future use to you.
    http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=fact

    Hope that will assist you.

I'm not sure about that... that is why I offered the matter to the non-theists.. I was thinking that they might have a better understanding of such things.

The word "fact" does not appear in the Koran either. What does that prove? Nothing. God leaves it for every individual to decide what is fact and what is not. For his plan to work, he must rely on your understanding to help you see the truth in the word of God. God can show you the path, but it is you that must take it.

    Well, it seems pretty silly.
There is nothing factual about the bible so why would it want to use the word fact. (I'll wait)
The bible is all about belief and faith.

It was first used in its 'current form' in 1530's.

"Because the word did not exist in its current form when the KJV was written "

Notice the very words that you used "in its current form" .... you said nothing about its "current meanings". You lose.

What's the plan God is working on?
So is the Koran the book we should look to for guidance/truth? Or some other?
It is hard to take the path cuz the bible, jewish writings, and the koran have differing ideas.
Then there are the many many other religions that don't pertain to the Hebrew God but a God from a different society/tribe. It is there guidelines/truth we should be following?

A "linguistic form" says nothing about the definition of the subject word.

    Explain your rationale.

There is only one source for god's plan. That is the Bible. If you want to understand God's plan, it is spelled out for you in Revelations. Read that, and then ask me again.

There is no rationale. Linguistics refers to the form in language. Language is made up of words. Words carry meaning. I would suggest giving up now while you are behind

Could it be, because the Bible is all smoke and mirrors? Sorry, couldn't resist.
