the Biden economy is doing so well, that supply can't keep up, thus temporary inflation

course we both know the distributions issue is the main thing causing the supply issue, and it's temporary (unless corps choose not to lower prices when supply comes back)

this is supply and demand basic 101

do you think the corps will get greedy and not lower prices when the supply increases?

Trump was the one that threatened foreign countries to lower oil production last year to cause the high prices at the pump we see today

    That never happened
    Neither has Biden
He did no such thing. He did get a lot of people killed though
What would make you think that? What "experts" did he ever get?
You think him staying home created the problem? How more out of touch with the truth could you possibly be?

Production tracked demand b4 2021, which dropped in 2020 due to COVID. The vaccine Trump handed Biden allowed demand to climb towards normal, but on day 1 of his administration, Biden made sure supply could not meet demand.

Let's not forget that you claimed we had so much oil we were exporting surplus. Your post is not supported by the facts. You may apologize for posting disinformation at any time.

    As I asked the poster:
Are we a net exporter or are we exporting excess oil in the Gulf of Mexico and importing oil from Canada or Africa to supply East Coast refineries where it's needed.

    Supported by ,,,,,
    https://www.eia.gov › petroleum › supply › weekly › pdf › table8.pdf

This is by PAD District, PAD 1 being the East Coast
    https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_impcp_a2_r10_ep00_ip0_mbbl_m.htm

Adding to the confusion is that the Jones Act prevents us from shipping Crude from the Gulf to East Coast Refineries --- because US flagged tankers have historically been tied up on the west coast.

Last I looked, Mexico didn't have the capacity to refine their Crude, so we 'imported' crude from them and exported refined products. Also, our Gulf Coast refineries have unique capabilities that allowed us to refine crude from Venezuela, which looked like an import and export.

Try responding to one poster at a time. You totally missed the point of my post and your 'facts' were demonstrably wrong.

Fact. There should never have been anymore hand outs in 2021. Almost as in heading under 5% as I said my state of poor old Alabama was below that and my county at 3.6% last December.

    Yea it did.

He ran on it, started it day one and his staff pledges it.

    Yep he did.

He's done it before it was his style. What has Biden done?

"Created"? How did you get that from what I said? If he couldn't fill the job during a crisis he should have resign the position. When he wasn't showing up and giving it his full attention Biden should have asked for that resignation.

When they started to manipulate prices by dumping. And has nothing to do with price today.

It is just one of the failures. The continued outpouring of government "free money" is the bigger factor.

Supply can't keep up because it is sitting off shore with more on the way.

your own chart shows oil prices rising in 2020 and continuing into 2021

that is cause of Trump, threatening foreign countries to reduce production of oil

So.........the $2B relief package passed while Trump was prez (which was supported by Dems despite the political advantage Trump would gain from it) was cool but not anything after that. Got it.

    You're propagandizing the forum.

Prices have gone up because governments in rich countries have handed out money to workers idled by the pandemic, some idled because of restrictions and others because of a lack of demand for services sold in "places with faces." Wide-open economies like Texas have weak sales, too. The Texas Restaurant Association told governor Abbott that many Texas restaurants won't make it.

One of the reasons the CPI is higher now is that prices were restrained last year.

You should take a macroeconomics class.

Sigh....Those are Hibernia Blend (API 34° Intermediate low Sulfur) and Terra Nova (API 33° Intermediate medium Sulfur) and neither are Canadian Tar Sands. You have be specific because idiots don't understand the difference. The other possibility is White Rose (a light low Sulfur oil). Note that all three of those oil fields are on the Canadian east coast.

    The Canadian Tar Sands are:

Athabasca Thermal (API 8° high Sulfur tar)
Athabasca Mining (API 8° high Sulfur tar)
Wabasca Primary (API 12° medium Sulfur tar)
Peace River in situ (API 9° high Sulfur tar)
Cold Lake Thermal (API 10° high Sulfur tar)
