It's already illegal for children, felons, and those determined by law to be mentally ill to buy guns. Do you suppose we should make it doubly so? Also, you've said pretty much the same thing umteen times now, but never really gotten specific. What kind of guns, and who shouldn't buy them.

PS... I can only use one gun at a time, two if I want to pretend I'm Lara Croft. What difference does it make if I have 243 of them?

If you were not against guns, your analysis would not exclusively focus on guns, "gun deaths", "gun violence", etc. If you were interested in honestly analyzing the net effect that guns has on our society, then you would weigh the prevention of violent crime heavier than "gun deaths".

I don't buy it. Nearly every single post you have made in the short time you have been a member of our little community here has been laser focused on infringing the rights of lawful gun owners.

Here's a little snippet of reality for you: There are more than 435 million guns at large in civilian hands, and those are just the ones that big brother knows about. I would not be surprised if the real number were double that. YOU CANNOT PREVENT ANYONE WHO HAS THEIR LIBERTY FROM GAINING ACCESS TO A FIREARM, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. That proverbial genie is out of the bottle. The LEAST effective thing you can do towards that end is try to further infringe the rights of lawful gun owners.

Here's another snippet: "VIOLENT CRIME" IS THE SALIENT METRIC EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN BETTERING PEACEABLE SOCIETY SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON. Focusing on so-called "gun crime" is just a cheap, sleazy way to filter out any net benefit firearm ownership brings to the analysis. Anyone who speaks of "gun deaths" has only one focus: guns. Since guns ARE here to stay, we should focus on how they can be beneficial to continuing the positive violent crime trend we have seen over the last 30 years.

No. The number who “can/could” conceal carry does not change at all. If someone had a background preventing them from obtaining a permit before, they are still prohibited from concealed carry now under the new law (takes effect in July 2023).
