An Austin man takes his weekly trail run armed with a flashlight, cell phone -- and a handgun tucked in a Velcro belt. Last month he pulled out the weapon to help rescue a woman who was being sexually assaulted. Josh Williams, 39, was running about 5:30 a.m. on the north side of Austin's Hike-and-Bike Trail when he heard a woman screaming and pointed his flashlight in her direction, KVUE-TV reported. He saw a man on top of her and realized she was being sexually assaulted. "I came up, pulled my gun and told him to get off of her," he told the station. "I said, 'Get on your knees and show me your hands.'" https://www.dallasnews.com/news/texas/2017/11/09/hero-pulls-gun-stop-woman-raped-austin-trail It seems, contrary to leftist drivil and standard talking points, that armed civilians DO stop violent crime....oooohhh!
Then when the woman is clear, you shoot the SOB right between the eyes and yell, "Oops!" and tell the judge it was an accidental discharge.
There is no need to say OOPS. It's legal to use deadly force to stop a rape in TX. "I thought he was reaching for a weapon" The armed jogger did good. He doesn't want that on his conscience.
Was he armed with Superman or Batman or were his arms two other superheroes? The right to bear hero arms.
Williams seems like just another emotionally needy gun freak trying to get his name in the paper. Next.
Yeah, now tell us proportionately, how times does a guy with a gun stop something comparable to how many times a guy with a gun murders an innocent person or people? Myth, more guns don't make anyone safer, hell, we got more guns than people and still 30,000+ a year are dying from gun violence
Then there's the flip side: Two hurt in accidental shooting at East Tenn. church during discussion on church shootings
How is the above the "flip side" of the cited article? Exactly what does it demonstrate? That negligence cannot be overcome by technological intervention? Negligence on the part of law enforcement officers can easily be demonstrated. Law enforcement officers are responsible for a significant number of negligent firearm discharges.
Stupid is as stupid does. Apparently, he failed the gun handling safety course or just plain didn't take one. Darwinism will remove idiots like these from the world eventually.
For every Josh Williams there are 20 just like the idiot in my link. If you want to start comparing 'good guy with a gun who saves an innocent victim' vs 'idiot with a gun who injures an innocent and/or earns his own Darwin Award' stories, we can. You already know which way the numbers will heavily slant...
Law enforcement is responsible for numerous negligent discharges of firearms. They are not highly trained professionals, rather than are barely anymore trained than private individuals who have never held a firearm to begin with.
How do you know, the NRA has had funding for gun research cut off from the CDC for the last twenty plus years
lol, silly goose, Obama had them conduct it in 2012. https://www.nap.edu/read/18319/chapter/3?term=defensive#15 Under Defensive Gun Uses.
