Before that, she had been living as a gay male. ....... So this year, she told teachers and administrators at Hillsboro High School, where she is a senior, that she would no longer be content to use a unisex faculty bathroom. She wanted to be treated like other female students, including access to bathrooms and locker rooms for girls.......... on Monday morning, students at Hillsboro High School walked out in protest.......... “The girls have rights, and they shouldn’t have to share a bathroom with a boy,” said Tammy Sorden, who has a son at Hillsboro High. It is fine to be different, she said, but it is not right to give Lila special treatment “while the girls just have to suck it up.”......... I wasn’t hurting anyone. I didn’t want to be in something gender-neutral,” she said, referring to the faculty bathroom administrators encouraged her to use. “I am a girl. I am not going to be pushed away to another bathroom.”......... Cornman’s statement also says that the district accepts all students “no matter race, nationality/ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. We will promote tolerance and acceptance of all students that attend our district while not tolerating bullying/harassing behaviors of any type in any form........... ”Several people interviewed outside Hillsboro High on Monday argued that a student who still has male genitalia should not be allowed into a changing room with teenage girls. This is interesting. A boy has been allowed to use unisex bathrooms at school but now demands that he be allowed to use the girls shower with the girls. I find the "statement of tolerance" by the school district to be quite curious because they are intolerant of the desires of girls to not allow a boy into their showers. It's obvious that this boy has mental issues because he admits that he was engaged in the homosexual lifestyle but now wears a wig and cross dresses as if doing that will justify his sexual lifestyle choice. His parents need to step up and get him the counseling he so desperately needs and to be educated that he is a male. No girls should be told to suck it up and let him use the girls' showers because the school district lacks the courage to ask the parents to get him the help he needs. Feel bad for the boy because he's messed up. Feel bad for the misguided parents. But, do not perpetuate the nonsense upon the rest of the students
Doesn't this go to the very basic notion of "Separate but equal"? There's a separate but equal bathroom, no matter how you look at it is discriminatory.
Are you displaying bigotry because you disagree with standard normalcy? ....or is the term "Bigotry" only selective in nature?
Really, I guess we just need to go to unisex bathrooms/showers for all Any other choice is separate but equal.
IMHO, the school's unisex bathroom for the boy to change in was a good enough accomodation. While he may "feel" he's a girl, the girls don't, and for their sake, they deserve a single cis-gender locker room.
No. There is no reason he cannot use the unisex bathroom. He just prefers not to to get a rise out of people.
You would think that a guy coming out as gay and then coming out as a trans while wearing a wig would never feel uncomfortable about anything in his life ever again.
If they stayed in the bathroom and didn't talk about their sexual habits out in the open, plaster it in the newspaper and then air it on TV all while marching through San Francisco dressed like circus freaks then no one would ever know, would they?
I don't think a person should be allowed to use a different gendered bathroom until they've had a sex change operation. Gender identity is one thing, but your gender identity is not the same as your gender. One is psychological, the other is anatomical.
Not according to the newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Sec. Sadly this kind of case will be another loser for the right but hey let them have at it and swuaq.
If you're glad to be alive and look forward to the continuation of mankind then thank a heterosexual.
What are you talking about? - - - Updated - - - I know, but until that day comes, we're going to be here.
How about her being able to pass? If she wants to be able to pass, why would she want to go to a bathroom that screams out that she's transgender?
What does him passing have to do with which bathroom he uses. I do not recall being graded on my performance at the urinal.
Two potential responses. 1. Why not? 2. Does the feeling of not being able to use the right bathroom cause some sort of feeling of discrimination or lack of self-worth? What if she wants to be able to pass? Wouldn't the unisex bathroom be a major obstacle if she has to keep doing something that could inform people that she's transgender?
She wants to be seen as female (She wants to pass). Females use female bathrooms (If she uses the female bathroom, she passes). She has to use a bathroom that calls into question her gender identity (She doesn't pass).
yeah I guess that is a simple way of classification. I believe the student in question still has a penis so it should still use the bathrooms for students who can pee standing up
