Progressive attitudes about sex lead to these kinds of things becoming more common with time. As they continue to push the envelope on sex, they need more and more stimulation to be satisfied. That's why nothing is potentially too taboo for them. Children became the object of sex back in the 80's in Amsterdam when child porn was for sale on every street corner, so we that if it can happen in the most liberal city in the world, it can happen again if there isn't a conservative force to stop it. Incest has been a taboo subject for thousands of years, but in the quest for social change, it may potentially become normalized at some point in the future.

We did not ask Mildred Jeter, a Negro woman, and Richard Loving, a white man who moved their controversial and progressive notion of marriage from Washington to Virginia, if they knew the potential consequences on a states right to regulate marriage, when they went to SCOTUS to ask that their due process rights be protected. Those sickos have totally ruined marriage. In 1954, only 4% approved of interracial marriage, now 87% do.

 

When did this 'deteriorating moral culture' begin? Does not have to be an exact moment. A decade or so would work.

 

I'm expecting to read any day now about an angry lonely liberal woman who marries her cat. Moral decay for sure. At minimum, it's the destruction of an institution that has existed for thousands of years.

I don't think it has to increase over time for my argument to work, it just needs to be more accepted by society. I believe the acceptance of homosexuality in society will open the door to other (previously considered) perversions.

I don't understand the argument then. Incest has always existed, regardless of how it was viewed by society. The only difference seems to be how society treated the people who engaged in such acts. But if there is no discernible change in the rates of incest, then why is it so concerning? It's going to happen either way.

 

The same argument can be used against pedophilia. Once something loses its negative social stigma it has a high potential to become more accepted and increase in frequency. I'd rather that not happen.

 

Can't someone be in favor of legal equality for homosexual adults without trying to eliminate the social stigma on pedophilia and incest?
