I salute the courage of Hongkongers who took to the streets to protest the assault on their strive for freedom by the corrupt communists in the Chinese government and their puppets in the Hong Kong government.

But I guess some people here will say that it's all staged and masterminded by American/European imperialists who don't want to see China prosper. As there is no batsh@t crazy idea that won't find its passionate supporters on this forum.

I'm sorry but I just can't get serious after hearing the word "Hongkongers".

It looks as though the protesters may have prevailed, for the time being.
Why doesn’t China see the downside of not being able to be trusted?

What is wrong with this word? As far as my understanding goes it's how they like to call themselves.

HKFP People of Protest: "We are not Chinese, we are not British, we are Hongkongers"

They didn't achieve much. It's just that in its earlier version the bill would apply to those who committed crimes punishable in Hong Kong for 3 years. And now it's 7 years. But the fact that the Hong Kong government stubbornly continues to pass this bill despite hundreds of people of this small island taking to the streets shows whose idea this bill really is. Carrie Lam can all day long say to everybody she is not a Beijing puppet but she is.
