    Fair enough...

    To each his own...

To me, it came off like "The Shining" in space, pretty much, which I loved...

But, everybody has their own thing...

Have you seen "You're Next" yet?

Kinda predictable, but still a decent watch...

Can "The Terminator" be considered a horror movie? It definitely has horror elements...

Real horror isn't about gore and massive numbers of dead bodies, but fear for one or more individuals.
In the original Dracula he kills only two people.
Norman Bates kills only two people(one out of jealousy and one in self defense).
In the Shining we're worried about one skinny man who goes nuts because he's after the smallest actress in Hollywood and a boy.
Rebecca De Mornay was 90 pounds in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, but she plots for weeks to get revenge.
In the original Friday theThirteenth three victims talk innocently to the killer before their deaths and the survivor realizes the truth just in time.
In Marathon Man the villain is a senior citizen, but the intended victim has ethics and won't kill him.
In my favorite movie: Theater of Blood, everyone knows who the killer is and who the remaining victims will be by mid-movie, but he still kills three more and captures the last. The last one survives only because the killer makes too long of a speech.
So let's call Terminator suspense/science fiction.

Here are some new British horrors:

    The Quiet Ones

Inspired by true events, this Hammer Horror tells the story of an unorthodox Oxford professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.

    Under The Skin

Based on the dark and slightly surreal book described by reviewers as “audacious, fascinating, and repellent”, this is about a lone female (Scarlett Johansson) who scouts the Scottish Highlands for men ‘of the right proportions’. Why does she have such extensive surgical scarring? Why fake glasses? And who exactly is working at the farm she’s staying at? To reveal the reason spoils the mystery part of this story.

    Cavalry

Brendan Gleeson is a priest marked for death by a mysterious hitman, who claims Gleeson's character cannot know good until he experiences evil.

    In Fear

This is an intense psychological horror about a young couple's fight to make it through the night. Home invasion but in a car.

On their way to a remote hotel in, the couple stop at a creepy pub for a drink and to ask directions. Disturbingly, all the signposts to the hotel lead them in circles; as night falls they get lost, and as strange things lurk in the darkness, Tom and Lucy consider the possibility that they have offended the locals. Director Jeremy Lovering coolly sticks to a rule often disregarded by horror movies looking for an instant scare: the weird, tense build-up is just as disturbing as the reveal. Gradually losing your bearings and realising you are all alone in unwelcoming countryside is very nasty all on its own. A smart, disturbing exercise in anxiety. Whilst filming, the actors didn't always know exactly what was happening.

I haven't seen The Others in years and years, but when I saw it as teen it was the best and most scary horror movie that I had ever seen. Now my favorite horror movie is Rosemary's Baby. It is strange to think that someone who would rape a thirteen year old girl would direct such an intensely feminist film. Other horror movies I love are The Shining, Carrie, Frankenstein,Bride of Frankenstein, The Horror of Dracula, Night of the Living Dead, Alien, The Thing, and American Werewolf in London

I haven't seen many new horror movies lately. The trailers all seem to be the same, with the same beats.
