Tobacco related deaths far outstrip any other cause of death Worldwide according to W.H.O. it is common to see young people of age 30 die from smoking related cardio vascular events.

To clarify, Tobacco use in all of it's many forms is a well known health risk / issue, Tobacco is also a major source of revenue for the Government, hence why there is no rush to restrict its use, the Tobacco Lobby, and yes, it is a Lobby, because they have Zero members of the smoking public, only large Tobacco concerns, the Tobacco lobby is a major Political Campaign fund raising entity.

 

The family lost a cousin who was both a heavy smoker and drank beer so much she got fat from the beer.

I last saw her alive 2 weeks prior to her dying.
I had visited her at Boise, ID with my dad and my daughter with me around 1984. I last saw her about 1989.

Point being in 1984, she was clearly heavy. She was drinking beer as we chatted with her. 5 years later here in CA, witrh her virtually on her death bed, she did not seem to weigh 90 pounds. She appeared to be a skeleton with skin.

I asked her as she tried to talk, if her doctor told her it was from smoking. She admitted the doctor told her that.

So sad to see Cigarettes take a life. Her cancer migrated from her lungs into her skeleton and I believe that more than in the lungs killed her.

Mind you, i know very little about cancer other than other people get it.

 

Well yes, cigarettes cause cancer, however it is nicotine and added chemicals to preserve and flavor the Tobacco and that newer safety chemical that extinguishes the cigarette when a smoker lays it down, in order to prevent fires, My Mom died of cancer in 1987, at a young age and she had only smoked one cigarette, My Uncle that smoked for over 30 years had a CVA and other smoking related health issues died at age 90 from smoking related cardio vascular issues.

Smokers also cause fires and are many times a risk to others as they light up without thinking, I was once having a large propane tank filled on a propane dock with many tanks being filled, the air was charged with propane, a man put a cigarette in his mouth and went to light up, I snatched away his cigarette and lighter before he blew us all to smithereens !!!!

Smoking kills in many ways !!!

 

Slow burning complex hydrocarbons produces a soup of partially combusted free radicals. You don't have the same risk burning small molecules (like propane), because they combust more completely and don't create as persistent a radical even if you do accomplish partial combustion. You should ventilate your stove top anyway.

But smoke from any plant material (marijuana, corn husk, wood) produces PAH radicals (the most damaging poisons in that soup). Bump your LP record needle, like most Lay People, you are stuck in one track over and over, chewing tobacco is 1000 times more likely to cause Cancer of all the related organs and systems of the mouth, nose and throat etc, so the effects of Hydrocarbons and other chemicals related to combustion are not the key factor in cancer.
