So let me get this straight, Dixiehunter. Apparently no previous First Lady has lived in the White House for four years with her kids, been fed meals or been allowed staff while living in the White House, been transported anywhere or has ever taken a vacation. I can only see one real difference between Michelle Obama and previous First Ladies of roughly the same age (remember Jackie Bouvier Kennedy?) and that's the color of her skin. It's not like she didn't have a career prior to Barack becoming President: you can just as easily argue she had to give up a lot to support her husband.

If it's $10 million on secret service expenses then I can at least respect the use of the money, but if she really is using tax money to purchase all this vacation luxuries, then this thread might actually hold water. Hence the question.

Of course, $10 million on secret services expenses isn't much better but a little more respectable. I was saying in another thread about this topic (geez, three I think) that it's a shame we can't cut off her secret service privileges.

After thinking on this a little during the day, I thought, wouldn't it be nice if the president had limited secret service funds for personal use. Once they use their personal use secret service funds, there are no more protected family vacations for the president, unless their willing to pay for the secret service out of their own pocket for a trip.

And perhaps presidents need a financial adviser to tell them, no, we're not approving funds for you and your wife to fly separately to your vacation destination. No, you're not getting that happy ending on your massage unless you fork out the money for it yourself.

 

It makes me sad that you can't see the promotion of the gay movement is part of a much larger and terrible plan of the people our founding fathers fought at our birth.

Here is something for you to think about: AIDS was created, by the same people who used gays as the victimes of its studies.

Did you know AIDS was a creation of the US government? Well really part of the AAE, which isn't part of our government, they just control it.

If we asked them for an audit of their travels do you think the White House would give it to us?

The report we are using claims that the Obama's are not paying anything out of their own pocket for all the places they have visited.

And I know that they are clever enough to arrange some sort official function that makes it state business.

Then there is the matter of security.

Even if Michelle is taking advantage of the taxpayers she is still the First Lady and we don't want to see her blown up kidnapped so the taxpayers get stuck with her protection.

But Spain, Africa, India, Brazil, Vail Colorado, and too many other swank places for me to remember are a bit more than any First Lady should squeeze into one year.

Particularly when her husband is running around lecturing the rest of us to give up something for the good of the nation.

 

the question is not how much the woman spent, because she most likely hardly spent a dime of her own money. the question is how much we taxpayers have spent so she could go on all these vacations and have a thrill of a time in the WH while we are breaking our backs to stay afloat.

The real downer for the Obamas comes when its evacuation time from the White House at the end of Barack Obama's last presidential term.
