How smart are you?

If you could add the option: "I don't always herp, but when I do, I derp," I would be most pleased.

 

Oh, look, 69 percent of voters think, that they are smarter, than average.
That means one of the following:
a)Opinion polls are not representative, because mostly smart people vote here
b) 35% overestimate themselves

IQ tests can mean nothing (even though I tested very high on them - though no genius).
My brother tested average at best.

Now he runs a successful software company after having graduated from Cal Berkeley with a degree in physics.
The guy is not average or even close to average in intelligence - he is way above it.
But when he took the test - he was intimidated by it and probably did fairly poorly because of that.

I believe IQ tests can be over rated.

Compared to some on this board, YEAST is smarter than they are.

For what it's worth, I'm in MENSA but I don't know if I want to brag about an organization which would have me for a member.

I believe I'm above the mean, but about on the median.

I suspect the majority of posters here are of high to very high intelligence, with some notable exceptions dragging down the average.

 

This is a conservative (so-called) filled forum. Of course most people will say they are smarter than average.

I suspect the average poster on here is slightly above average intelligence.

I have found that people often sound smarter 'on paper' then in person.

It's fairly easy to sound intelligent when you can think through/edit/research your responses as opposed to giving them instantly.

 

Well, without knowing any of you, I can only say for certain that I'm clearly the smartest person here. And I will consider any suggestions otherwise to be high treason.

 

According to other dogs, I am a genius, especially when opening a can of dog food.

I don't think its right for anyone to say they are smarter than someone else. Intelligence is only relevant to the point of view of the beholder. I've taken IQ tests, and i've ranked between 98-112, yet i would never say i was any better or any worse than anyone else.
