Hundreds watched 'gang rape' in Panama City Beach , did nothing to stop it

Is this really what has become of our society? A girl can be gang raped in public and people watch. What has caused this kind of rot in our society today?

We need to avoid swerving away from the real issue. What has caused our society to degrade to the point that people will tolerate the intolerable? Are we now so scared that any conduct is to be excused or ignored?

It seems that the Sheriff is trying to shift the blame on the crowd for his own failure to properly monitor the area. So in this instance the Sheriff was derelict in his duty to maintain public safety when he knows full well that a certai number of criminal incidents occur in those types of settings.

The problem with hating the second amendment is you require the police to be everywhere at once, and then disparage them when they cant be... not making them particularly friendly toward you, or the criminal element you defend who also vote your "side" of the ballot.

 

I don't hate the Second Amendment. History is full of cases in which crowds took action against perps and ended up in all kinds of legal trouble themselves. Although the thug cops and creepy prosecutors busted them and put them on trial the dummy jurors didn't exonerate them for their good deeds in taking action against the perps.

You will notice that the Sheriff is ticked off about the video although it's clear evidence that crimes were committed and show the perps. He would be a raving lunatic it the crowd had attacked and killed the perps. So maybe he needs to get off of his lazy behind and police the beaches and other crowded areas where crimes are likely to occur in his jurisdiction.

Good question, but it has been slowly seeping into our society for a few decades now. Morals, common decency slowly fading and it's come to this. The cop said the girl was unconscious during the rape and all those people sat around and watched like they were watching a movie.... gawd, what a sick world this has become.

Who took the video, and why?. If they did it to try and identify the rapists later isn't that a good thing?

The incident might actually be a good thing. If the dumb girls have been paying attention they will now know that if they get drunk and pass out they might be ganged raped and no one will come to their defense. So they should always be careful and never place themselves in such potentially dangerous situations. It's also interesting that the girl's groupies did nothing to protect her. It's highly unlikely that she was there without at least one other girl buddy. So what happened to her buddy or buddies? The incident also shows that some people always carry cell phones and will video incidents even if they take no other action. Once the videos get shown the perps will be busted, even if the perp is a thug or an out -of- control cop.

The bottom line is that each individual is responsible for his or her own personal safety. Never expect anyone to help you in your hour of need.

Every person that witnessed this horrendous act should be held accountable and charged as an accessory to rape. There is no spin on this, no blaming any political side, this was a terrible act done and witnessed by terrible people.

This has been on the local news, including the Sherriff saying "I'm tired of trying to make icecream from chickens***" in a presser about it.


That bridge you have to cross to get to the beaches... is a huge divider. it's a mile long, but when you cross it, it's a different place than on my side of the bridge. It's very curious how the county has developed over the past century that way. There's another bridge that blacks don't live north of.... it's just very strange, a 3rd bridge leads into a military housing area....


Either way, back to the story. a few weeks ago, Miss State qb, Dak Prescott, got jumped by some thugs caught on video. He is a very big and strong guy and he couldn't handle the beatdown. I am not Dak Prescott's size or athleticism, or age....

A month ago, a thug shot 7 on the beach in about the same area as this rape occurred....

I'm sorry, if I am at the beach, and I see this, I won't jump in simply because you have to think of the past incidents in the same area, plus hypothetical possibilities.


I'm a white guy, if I go up to two black kids raping a white girl in a parking lot, I'm already outnumbered.... But I CCW.... if I'm attacked, I will defend myself and next thing you know, I'm George Zimmerman #2. I would absolutely be in the right, to shoot a kid who's raping a girl that turns their attack on me.... but we've seen it on PF.com and the MSM, I would be crucified for going up to the 2 "instead of calling the cops" I would be accused of racism because I saw two black kids and a white girl. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would drag my name through the mud.... and btw, I teach locally, so I'm sure I would end up losing my job by the end of the school year... And not to mention, I'm sure the NBPP would love to post my parent's address online. All this to help some girl who chose to get #whitegirlwastedPCB because she thought she could handle her liquor...


However, with that said.... crap like this is EXACTLY why I don't go to the beach anymore. (or at least not PCB, I go to a non-touristy, Mexico beach on the East end of the county.

The issues at the beach have divided this county. The service industry caters to punks and thugs, while the professionals all say "quit advertising Spring break debauchery"

I still think the only thing that fixes our current Spring Break problem in Panama City is another cat 3 hurricane. Opal (in 95) killed Spring break in 96, and it's slowly been built back up to what it is today....


Panama City gets hit with big hurricanes roughly every 20 years.... we're overdue.


I hate hurricanes, but the PCB commissioners and the Tourism Commission have lost control and are unable to fix it. Hurricanes flush it out.

I believe that violent crime offenders should lose their rights to own guns..... non-violent like car stealing in your example, should be able to keep their guns after they serve their sentence...

 

Sadly from news events over there and responses on this very forum you're probably right - you would be labelled a racist, lose your job, endure heavy court costs and have your families safety threatened. The left have made a special class based on the color of their skin, that can get away with anything unless overwhelming evidence such as a video.

 

The issue I have is this - where I live, I see this stuff rarely. I see smaller stuff all the time. Now, it's anecdotal, but it's primarily black folks littering, loitering, trashing things up. Out of the 4 murders we had in the past 6 months, 3 have had black perps.

IDK. I'm certainly not racist, my best friends are Chilean and Puerto rican, but there's got to be something that's driving these trends. IDK what they are.
