I beleive the Tea Party is strongly tied to racism.

The only kind of racism that progressives have a problem with is from white people to (insert Democrat constituent minority group here). That kind of racism is beneficial politically to the left. Any other kinds of racism - from minorities to whites, from minorities to other minorities, - do not allow the left to push their narrative, so they are not considered problematic.

So then Howard Dean is a racist also? I am really confused now, as at one of the two Tea Party events I went to, I was greeted by a black woman.

As you seem to be highly intelligent and have your finger on the pulse of the collective Tea Party, I'm sure you can explain all of this, right?

For a country with such a small percentage of Jews, there sure are a lot of Jews involved in the media and on Wall Street. Also, blacks commit crimes at a much higher rate than whites. Blacks seem to be better basketball players than whites. Hispanics stand on street corners looking for work where I live. Are these racist or factual statements?

I don't know your story is true first of all because anyone who loves the sewer dweller David Duke and his anti-semitic rants can't be trusted.

I pointed out that someone said they never saw a racist at a rally and you said "But he didn't say there aren't any". So you are saying there are. Which is it?

Not that I care about the issue, but I have worked for a Wall Street firm for 15 years. The fact is, many (most) Wall Street firms are publicly traded, so Jews don't own them, and they really don't have many Jews in any positions of power. Most of the folks are middle aged and older, non-Jewish white dudes. To anyone in the industry the whole Jews and Wall Street thing just doesn't ring true. Feel free to believe it if you want. It doesn't matter anyway, but there really aren't an abnormally large number of Jews running things.

Because the true tea party movement has nothing to do with race, but the size, growth, and power of government. Sure, the movement has been co-opted, but the people who truly believe in these principles of liberty and small government have a problem with big government no matter who is in office. People such as this also had a problem with Bush.

 

Maybe a lot of the perceived racism in the Tea Party is due to the fact that certain minority groups are nearly monolithic supporters of the ideology that the Tea Party is opposed to. If you see a black person in this country, you have a 95% certainty that that person is a liberal Democrat.

 

So now you are saying there are no racists in the tea party?

Maybe this is why it is perceived as racism, but it is quite a stretch. There are many people who just want the size and scope of government reduced, to include taxation and regulation, as well as civil liberties to not be infringed on. I don't see how the case could be made these people believe a certain race is genetically superior or inferior to another simply because they hold the small government beliefs and some black people disagree with them.

 

The first is a 'hedged' way to suggest the second. But it's kind of silly. Racism generally doesn't carry visual stigmata.
