Tariffs are taxes. By definition. He levied them. Just because facts are inconvenient for your politics does not make them cease to be facts.

And my attacks on tariffs come from the right, not the left. Also, you should really know by now that the tariffs involve more than just China.

Unlike the President, you should also understand that US companies pay those taxes (and, yes, they are taxes), not China, and that the trade deficit he is trying to fix is not an actual monetary deficit -- it is not lost wealth.
