No because those in favor of banning guns will simply say that Israel is in a vastly different state than the US and citizens of the US don't live in a nation where something like that could happen here. Plus in Israel's case something like that is never SUPPOSED to happen because the police and military locked down the area where the bad people live and them breaking out and slaughtering over a thousand people was unprecedented. And even if such a thing did happen here, lets say the Cartels just decided to storm into the southern US and start massacring people, those against guns would simply say it was a rare unprecedented event and the danger of an armed populace still outweighs the danger of such an event happening again.

You aren't gonna change these folks minds no matter what happens. I mean lets be real, look at how many people in the US are even on Hamas's side right now after this. There are even folks in Congress advocating the defunding of Israel's Iron Dome....

Some folks are just out of their minds and/or evil. Even if a theoretical mass Cartel attack happened in the southern US killing thousands of people you'd have a contingent of the US population in the streets rallying in support of the Cartels because Texas used to be Mexico and Americans are big bad meany colonists who stole it.

The key in this instance was leadership, combined with most Israelis having served in the military, thus, with access to weapons were able to mount a semi-coordinated defense.
I suspect this lesson will not go unnoticed by Israeli authorities.
Given the prevalence of guns in the US, a similar defense could be mounted if someone stands to lead, something Admiral Yamamoto noted in WWII. Think Red Dawn here.

I am not so sure the Department of Justice would see having a neighborhood arms bunker with no clear owners as kosher. Just a hunch.

Might want to read this. Particularly - (2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
