If they tried to draft me to fight some war that Trump dreamed up, I would not go. I can't be the only person who feels that way. The guy is Hitler. You can't trust a word he says, and he is pulling the same damn crap.

War is on the horizon, you should leave now to avoid the draft.

You thinking Canada? I can help you get there.

if there was a draft the war involved would be on such a huge scale that yes you would fight as it would be an extinction level event.

No country on earth is strong enough to force the US to use the draft. It would have to be aliens or something lol.

Just curious ... What if it was some war Hillary Clinton dreamed up. She was actually very good at dreaming up wars. If she dreamed up a war, would you go?

I wasn't due to be drafted, but I enlisted in 1968. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all served in the military.

I served two full tours in Vietnam. My first was with Bravo and Delta Troops, 2/7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry (Airmobile). I went back for training in the US, Panama and the Phillipines as a Pathfinder. My second tour was with 11th Aviation.

But under Trump, that lying sack of wet dog crap, I would never volunteer for combat service.

    Regards,

    Jason Bourne

Well that's good. In my experience, politicians can't be trusted, even when they're trying to sell you on a good cause to die for.

Trump won overwhelmingly the military vote.

Can anyone take a stab as to why?

I am well beyond military age (dammit), but I would defend my country in a heartbeat if she needed defending.

I will oppose stupid wars that we should not get into with all my energy, regardless of who the president is.

Because military people tend to vote anti-Democrat.

Do you object to someone refusing to kill and die for Trump?

A lot of people feel the same way about wars, no matter who decides to wage them.

War zones are not safe spaces, and sometimes things go really bad really quickly.

I just have to wonder why the OP thinks going to war is optional.

It is not impossible to imagine a 'just' war under Trump, but it is a lot easier to imagine him driving us into an unnecessary and unjust war and it would be very hard to prove the difference. I'd have to trust Dems in Congress with a high security/ intelligence access, except most of them, royally screwed up when it came to Iraq. too many of them supported the war, when they should have been asking harder questions and refusing to give Bush 'the benefit of a doubt'. They just did not do their own due diligence in the face of administration propaganda.

Not at all! It's a highly heroic move. This hasn't kept pacifists from dying from firing squads in the past, which is why it is so heroic.

It is optional for most people, and it's always optional for the aggressor.

Would you go to war for Obama and wait to be shot at before shooting back?

Better hope the enemy is a bad shot!

What if the war was against terrorism?

What do you think 9/11 was?:confusion:

I had been separated for six months on 9/11. I called my old unit commander to ask if it were worth it to re-enlist in order to fight the Saudi cowards who had betrayed us.

She told me that the fight wouldn't be with the Saudi's, it was Iraq that was in the crosshairs. That was 9/20. I hung up the phone in disbelief and enrolled in nursing school.
