How did these extremely valuable (to Hamas) unarmed hostages escape from armed Hamas guard behind locked doors and make their way partially clothed through a Hamas controlled urban area to the front lines? This was most likely planned by Hamas. The accidental killing by battle fatigued IDF soldiers who understandably did not follow their rules of engagement was the result hoped for by Hamas.

All this validates is that Hamas uses civilians as human shields. Hamas self admittedly places civilians in harms way and hopes to maximize civilian deaths. This is their dead baby policy. When civilians are killed Hamas is responsible. That is abundantly clear. But western progressives and the legacy media blame Israel for the civilian deaths. The cartoon upthread illustrates this perfectly. If the IDF shoots to protect Israeli civilians and the Gazan civilian which the cowardly Hamas terrorist is hiding behind is harmed Israel is blamed. That is absurd. But that is the dead baby strategy which Hamas employs so successfully. If the western progressives and legacy media really want to reduce the number of civilian casualties they must begin to condemn Hamas for using human shields Only then will Hamas stop using them - or not. Killing human shields is a war crime as terrible as terrorism. In both, innocent civilians are killed. the reasons do not matter in the slightest. The policies that cause groups like Hamas to form make Israel just as guilty as Hamas in the death of both the Israelis and the Palestinians. It is better that not a single member of Hamas be killed as long as innocent civilians are left to live in peace. THAT will protect Israeli lives. By slaughtering every member of Hamas while simultaneously killing civilians, the IDF and Netanyahu are actually betraying the Israelis, condemning them to eternal terrorist attacks.

The bloodthirst that some feel that is so extreme that they think civilians being used as human shields makes it ok to kill the civilians, are so blind and confused that they cannot see that they are just putting the Israeli civilians in even greater danger.

Hamas fires rockets from populated areas. Israel fires smart munitions back at the gps located Hamas launching sites in defense of Israeli citizens. Gazan civilians in close proximity to the Hamas launching sites who have not been evacuated by Hamas are injured. Hamas is responsible for Gazan civilian casualties. And absurdly the parliamentary democracy of Israel is blamed. The dead baby policy succeeds.
