I gave you the passage - which depicts YHWH - just as above - and this has nothing to do with the Canaanites.. so once again you are lost.

You ignored this passage from Scripture -- where God orders the killing of babies and children for the sins of their parents. This was not during war .. this was a command to the Israelites - to kill other Israelites.

Obviously you had no comprehension of what this passage meant - if you thought it was about the Caananites .. no this is Gods Law - one that was to be observed .

Interesting you bring up Child Sacrifice though - as many different cults were engaging in such practices - depending on the city .. each one having their own God of the City -- God of that people - just as YHWH was the God of the Israelites - one of Enlil's 70 Sons - each of a different people.. and each brought their God to war with them..

All however believed that El was the top of the Food chain -- "The Most High" - God of Abraham ..

but I digress - following you down the child sacrifice rabbit hole - as if some of these other tribes - "canaanites" sacrificing children has anything to do with God's command to kill Israelite Children ..

 

That describes a lot of religion perfectly.

Without committing myself, regarding the identity of the historical Jesus, I just wanted to add that speaking the Truth, will make anyone a lot of enemies.

 

I once heard on public radio, this essayist, I guess, talking about trying to explain Martin Luther King Day to his young son. He explained that King was a martyr for his beliefs, and the young boy asked why people killed him. The father told him, for saying that people should Love one another. Then his son asked, "Just like Jesus?"
