As creator, God has every right to expect people to make a choice. To compare it to the Mafia who get people to make that choice for their own financial gain is just anti-intellectual. The Mafia offer a choice between physical life and death. Jesus offers a choice between SPIRITUAL life and death.

 

I can't imagine a person not being concerned about people who give their children a book that says to kill gays and that gays are (apparently) such scum that gays can't get into "heaven" and DESERVE "hell". I really can't.

If they really had an all-knowing entity on their side, who not only guides them their whole life, but who also answers their prayers, then they would easily vanquish me, and unassisted atheist scum with no divine entity on his/her side. But that's not the case.

You'd be a more ethical person, a better human being, if you'd condemn Jesus for teaching that your family will all burn in "hell" if they become, say, Buddhists - at least we can agree on that. I assume that you love your family.

 

One is "physical" life/death, the other is "spiritual" life/death you said, but IT'S STILL THE SAME - it's IMMORAL AND BULLYING! Different yes, the same YES! Jesus is a like the SPIRITUAL MAFIA. Why is it Jesus' fault if someone chooses one of the false God's? By the way, its not as if each of those thousands of God's have followers all throughout the world. When people reject the Christian God, its not because they have sat down and compared him to the thousands of others God's and found him to have less evidence than all of the others. This is clearly what you're suggesting and its REALLY stupid!

 

If you were in Jesus' shoes, would YOU provide the world with a court-room level (not a Biblical hearsay level) of evidence for his (your) divinity, so that way fewer people would end up in "heaven" and avoid "hell"? I would, because I am more loving than Jesus is. Are you more loving than Jesus is?

 

Because he purposefully keeps evidence for his divinity from the world - all he'd have to do would be to show up, say, at the Superbowl at half-time (or whatever - hey, he's all-powerful, right?) each year and way fewer people would end up in "hell". But he doesn't do that because he's a POS (yes, piece of poo). I'd do that, myself, if I was him, and I bet you love humanity enough to do that as well.
