Nothing. I mean, as we come across them through traffic stops or arrests or whatever, we should deport them, but I don't think we need a new Operation Wetback. There isn't much point until the border is secure.
I would go so far as retroactive deportation. Children of illegals should be deported as well, if they are under 18. If they do not speak the language of their parents they should be put through language classes, in the other country (it is best to immerse yourself in a country if you really want to learn the language). Paying for their language classes is a small price to pay for getting rid of them.
I say we should get rid of them all and charge the countries they came from and mexico. so then their governments will start trying to prevent illegal immigration to the USA because they will be penalized if any come over. also the illegals should be charged for all the free services they used while in america when they werent even supposed to be here in the 1st place
I'm not sure about that, but at the very least the United States should be sending a bill to Mexico for all their undocumented migrants U.S. hospitals are obliged to treat in their emergency rooms. Even if Mexico refuses to pay the bill, at least it would be symbolic.
i mean if illegals get free stuff then we all should get free stuff. if thats not the case then we should send them the bills just like we do to everyone else. it would help us financially as well
First, fix your border. Deport them when you find them, make it legal to shoot them on sight for they are simply criminals that chose that path despite the legal way being open and they are very conscious of this, they continue to break the law everyday by staying. If they turn themselves over voluntarily there's no need to cap them of course. And yeah, retroactive deportation is nice. But the main point is that THERE CAN BE NO COMPROMISING OF THE LAW for crying out loud.
Reform the visa system. Get rid of all numerical limits on work visas, and let the market handle things. No amnesty should be given, however. If you entered illegally or your parents brought you here that way, that's your problem, not our society's.
There was a gubernatorial canidate in Texas back in 2006 who had a similar idea. He wanted to give 10 generals in the Mexican army 1 million dollars each with the understanding that the payment would only come at the end of the year and that we would deduct $10,000 for every illegal that got through. Way too simple and makes way too much sense... we couldn't possibly do that. Kinky Friedman was his name.
There needs to be a complete overhaul of the immigration situation with respect to Mexico and the Central American countries. A general amnesty only makes sense in the context of a truly controlled border, some kind of greatly expanded work permit program that actually addresses the issues surrounding illegal immigration and true enforcement of arrests and deportations of future illegal immigrants and severe prosecutions of their employers. I only wish that I thought such a comprehensive policy will actually be put into place. Failing doing what ought to be done, I guess I would support a non-general amnesty for most of the current long-time illegal immigrants in the USA. It's not a good precedent and it's poor lawmaking, but it would recognize reality and reduce scofflaw behavior and keep the citizen birthrate up (important to generate future taxpayers).
theys should be thrown out immediately, then they should get charged for everything they used here. and on top of that the countries they came from should be charged for letting them through.
We should invite them to leave. Those who decline our invitation should be prosecuted and deported forthwith.
i believe our border patrol agents should be allowed to use lethal force... having said that. no, they shouldnt be killed. unless they are trying to invade and are caught in the act.
Only born hear by luck so im not that angry at any 1 who comes hear leave them be or give them citizenship
what about immigrants from africa who come here legally and it takes them 10 years to get here through the legal process? screw them right? just give it to the mexican who broke the law anyways
Deporting all illegal immigrants is not an option. Besides that, it is un-American. This is a free country. We don't round people up.
Certainly not amnesty or some easy path to citizenship. That just condones even more illegal immigration, especially with a non-secured border.
well if you let some people get away with crimes you have to let everyone get away with crimes. might as well disband all laws or give everyone an amnesty card for a serious crime
